iHeart Podcasts

Spotify

We enjoy an immersive audio experience and Saigon, an iHeart Radio podcast takes us to Vietnam. We learn that this podcast focuses on love, blood, and revolution. Starring Kelly Marie Tran (Passenger List, Sweet Tooth, Central Intelligence) and Rob Benedict (The Boys, Leverage: Redemption, Central Intelligence), this podcast is adapted from the best selling novel of the same name by Anthony Grey.

We learn about the tensions that exist in French-colonial Saigon as well as in the country at large! Set in 1936, we meet an American journalist, Joseph who is reunited with his childhood friend, Paul who is now a French policeman. In reconnecting with him at a tennis match, he is reintroduced to Lan, a woman who will shape Joseph’s destiny.

We see how Lan’s brother rejects hus wealthy upbringing and joins Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary cause which changes everything through WWII, Japanese occupation, Vietnamese nationalism, and America’s war in Vietnam. This podcast traces how personal passions and family loyalties are swept into the tides of history.
