Over the past few months, there have been Netflix series that have not only been craveably binge worthy, but your fingers are crossed that there will be an additional season as you were so gripped by the characters and the storytelling. In The Four Seasons, we are introduced to a friend group that has maintained their connectivity across decades and the natural changes that take place in their lives. Throughout the episodes we catch them at various points of vacations that happen throughout the 4 seasons! With an incredible cast that includes Steve Carell (The Office, The Patient, Mountainhead), Tina Fey (30 Rock, Only Murders in the Building, SNL), and Colman Domingo (Euphoria, Fear the Walking Dead, Rustin) - to name a few. After watching this season, you realize that friendship is a choice and one that's about challenging, accepting, and continuing to evolve as situations continue to take place. You'll be pleased to know that the cliffhanger we ended on will continue into S2!

Nine Perfect Strangers is back with S2 and the wait was worth it without a doubt! We find ourselves back with the complicated, dedicated and extremely controversial wellness founder Masha Masha Dmitrichenko (Nicole Kidman) who continues to push the envelope of getting people well with her program that pushes her clients to their liimt - but at what cost.

We pick up from S1 with her exodus as she is on the run in terms of practicing in her own facility and she has taken her show on the road to another place outside of the US to continue her work. We are introduced to new people eager to work with her and as was the case from the previous season, seeing the common connections that exist within a group of people who appear to be very disconnected from one another.

Over the past few weeks, we have been gripped by Death County, PA - Wondery's true crime podcast that introduces us to Lamont Jones who finally leaves the Dauphin County Prison for the last time as a free man who is willing to live his life. While he is looking ahead to his future, he finds out that his nephew who is also serving time, dies in the same jail and that the circumstances of his death is not only a mystery, but one that has happened before in the same system. Lamont's need to find out what happened connects him with a TV show coroner who claims that he does his work as a means to speak for the dead and to hold those in power accountable.

We also get to know more about a police officer, Nichols (Benicio Del Toro) and his crew! The two worlds of these men as well as those associated come together in a thriller that leaves you constantly wondering how all of this is connected and where as well as what is the lie?

This is the perfect movie to watch on a weekend solo or with friends!

We have been fans of FBOY Island for the past 2 seasons on Max as this social experiment is definitely next level when it comes to women finding their ideal man. Now that they have made the move to The CW, we're glad that Nikki Glaser is back navigating the relationships between the 3 women this season and those who are FBOYs and Nice Guys! Interestingly enough, of the 3 contestants that we will get to know more about, Katie Thurston from Season 17 of The Bachelorette is competing for love! It's an interesting crossover, but we know that the Executive Producer, Elan Gale, previously worked on The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise. In addition to Katie, she is joined by model Hali Okeowo and social media influencer Daniella Grace.

We can't wait to see what will take place this season and to see how these women will go about the experience!

Previous series have included Jay-Z and Beyonce, The Royals, Selena and so much more! Currently, they are focusing on Courtney Love! In this series we'll get to know more about her, her career, and beyond. Hosts Brooke Siffrinn and Aricia Skidmore-Williams will take us on this journey as well as give a few insights along the way!

When we look back at the first Black Supermodel, many of us think of Beverly Johnson; however, in HBO's Donyale Luna Supermodel, we are introduced to the first, who covered Harper's Bazaar Magazine, was in a number of campaigns, shot by leading photographers, and jetsetted throughout Europe when she realized that making it here in the US as a Black woman from Detroit wouldn't be a reality for her.

She lives a life as a model and creative who simply wanted to find a place that she could call home, be accepted, and shine in her own skin. Throughout the documentary we learn about her life, her iconic poses, and luminaries in the industry talk about those who opened doors for her as well as those that kept it shut. The importance in reclaiming this history so that more can be aware of her story is one that we truly enjoyed in this documentary.

LOVE IS BLIND

We love a good social experiment and we're back in the pods for the 5th season of Netflix's Love is Blind, we see another round of those who are looking to find their match without seeing one another. They're able to date in pods, talk about their interests, and what a life would be like together, and then if they get engaged, they only see each other when they accept!

Afterwards, they go on a vacation where all the couples are able to begin their lives and then they go

home so that they can see whether they can continue to be with one another as well as to meet their families. In the end, they will see if love is blind if they end up getting married and avid viewers of the show always like seeing the after show as well as another episode that shows what happened with those involved! It kicks off on Sept 22nd with initial episodes and over the 3 week period, additional episodes will be available on Fri.

We came across The Final Chapters of Richard Brown Winters podcast which is 1 episode with 13 chapters that introduces us to the quest of an author who is known for creating a series of books; however, he is a recluse that hasn't been seen for awhile. His fans are wondering when he will release his next book since it has been years since his last night. His critics wonder why the consistency of his books aren't there.

A small group of curious people come together to find out more about the author, his process and to understand why he has lived the way he has for so long. In addition, they uncover a number of truths about the recluse and how they can maintain his legacy to ensure that his fans stay with him to hear about the jounrey of his characters.

We enjoyed the first season of Wondery's Dr. Death podcast which talked about the destructive and murderous Dr. Christopher Duntsch who terrorized unsuspecting patients in Dallas, Texas with surgeries that left them more uncomfortbale then when they started, paralyzed and in some cases dead. This successful podcast has been turned into a series that's perfectly bingeable on Peacock.

In this series, we find out about how Duntch's past ultimately created an individual who would take his narcissistic behavior, risky surgeries and the ability to use his charm to advance in his career.

We also get insight into how he was ultimately taken down by the efforts of two doctors and a legal system that had to navigate how they approached doctors who work in such a negligent way as well as how they created checks and balances to better monitor the medical community as a means to advocate for patients rights.

For those who enjoyed the podcast, this series is a great way to learn more about portions of the story that were not covered.

The second season of The Control Group is a fictional podcast about a nuclear event that takes place in a city. Throughout the episodes, we find out how an entire town either lives in their bunkers or go to an area shelter. With little information being shared, they all listen to a radio station to find out what is taking place and to prepare for their next steps.

As we learn more about the main characters which includes a family, a stranger that happens to be caught up in the events that have unfolded as well as the military, we learn that there is more going on then what is being shared. How much of the nuclear episode is real and how big is it? What's happening outside of the town that this is taking place and will life return to normal? The Control Group looks at how people operate under distress when it is initiated by forces that are meant to protect those that they serve.

Nicolas provides anicdotes from the comfort of a stately library. In addition, a number of major comedians weigh in on the use of the word and how it gained popularity or whether it's as bad as it is perceived to be. They also have etymologists and others who study language that provide their insight as well.

In each episode, you hear a lot of facts that allows you to see the word in a new light in terms of its adoption through time and culturally. We wonder if they will continue to have a history of other kinds of words since the 6 big ones have already been covered!

In Evil By Design, CBC Podcast's Timothy Sawa brings his investigative journalism of 20+ years to focus on the women and men who were victimized, the systems that failed them and how he was able to do this for so long.

Fans of Business Wars and Business Wars Daily which focuses on 2 businesses that are competing with one another in a designated space, have a new show to add to their list. Hosted by Lindsay Graham (not the Senator), Business Movers looks at successful businesses and the story that took place to get to their success. The stories look at their early beginnings and how they took leaps of faith to be where they are now! This includes epic moves filled with bold decisions, highs and lows and the unknown. In addition to having a greater understanding of the business and how it has grown beyond its vision, it's also a peek into the innovators as an individual.

This series kicked off with its initial episodes that involve Walt Disney. We learn about Walt, his upbringing, building his company which included his successful movies as well as his biggest gamble, the creation of Disneyland and Walt Disney World. We also learn how he began to focus on his dream of living beyond him by setting up his brother Roy to take the reigns.

We can't wait for additional episodes which will also look at mishaps from successful companies such as the colossal failure of New Coke.

Netflix Originals brings the story of the Mother of the Blues, Ma Rainey, to showcase how she trailblazed in the industry. Based on the play written by August Wilson. The film where Viola Davis stars as Ma Rainey as well as Chad Boseman's final film as Levee Green, the band's trumpeter. The film tackles artistic control, commercial exploitation, and racism in various forms from systematic to violent.

Most of the scenes take place in a recording studio in Chicago in 1927 where the band shares stories that lets you know about their journey, the lies, truths and how their decisions led them to where they ended up.

We've been fans of QCode's podcast for awhile now so when we heard that Richard Madden (Bodyguard) and Brian Cox (HBO's Succession) would be starring in this scripted sci-fi podcast, we made sure to add this to our list. The first episode introduces us to the USS Hope a spaceship that vanished for 35 years and then came back to earth. The lone survivor leaves the carrier and is the same age as when he left! His brother, voiced by Cox and is his twin and has a one-on-one meeting with them.

The meeting allows them to reconcile and although it was a pleasant exchange, it turn a bit dark as they uncover information that can threaten their relationship from sibling rivalry, family loyalty, technological advances, the future of space exploration, climate change, human adaptation and how we process time individually.

We enjoy seeing Catfish where Nev Schulman brings interested parties together to find out if they are who they say they are, if they are compatible to stay together or if they have other issues that they need to figure out. Nev has also shown us how we can go about protecting our digital spaces and interactions so that we can safeguard ourselves from those that may not have our best interests as heart. If you've enjoyed seeing the movie that started it all and the weekly TV show, you can now listen to some of the most shocking episodes on this podcast.

MTV partnered with Wondery to take some of the best episodes from the TV show and to make it an auditory experience as we navigate those being catfished. As this show just began, we love that Max is in these episodes. In listening to the first few episodes, you can hear the best of the actual show as well as voiceovers to connect portions of the episode in terms of describing the person that they are working with so that you have a full picture on what's taking place.

When you're finished bingeing watching Selling Sunset, make sure that you check out Netflix's newest show that focuses on Nest Seeker International's agents as they sell homes in the Hamptons. As is the case with this formula, we'll be introduced to an array of personalities of realtors and brokers that are taking on a hot destination, watching how they do their business, how they stay ahead of the competition and how they work together as an agency as well as individually! In addition, we can transfer our wanderlust through them and be transported to new locales. Of course, we're definitely waiting to see what kinds of drama they will get into as well!

We meet Arabella Essiedu (Michaela Cole) and her friends in London living their best lives. Arabella is a Twitter star turned author working on writing her 2nd anticipated book while in the throws of procastination and serious writer's block, with her best friend Terry Pratchard (Weruche Opia) who is a struggling actor and her other best gay male friend Kwame (Paapa Essiedu). We follow Arabella as we focus on her finishing her book. She takes a trip to Italy and meets a man who calls her out on her vices, when she is back home, she opts to take another break to go out and is sexually assaulted; however, she spends the remainder of the season putting together the details, dealing with her stages of grief, what it means to be a victim and getting her power back.

In the midst of her focus on herself, she also learns how her interactions as well as being present with her friends shift as well. Ultimately, she realizes that after a year since the incident, she has to get her life together and she can't do it alone. This powerful and emotional series just completed so it's worth doing a proper binge.

Even the Rich delves into some of the richest families, couples and systems and shows that although they have wealth, access and lives that are on another level, they also deal with the same issues of loss, betrayal and ambition. This season has included a number of stories that are covered within a few episodes from the Royal family, The Murdochs, Gettys, Beyoncé & Jay-Z and they are currently delving into The House of Versace. Within each story, there is a primary focus such as how Gianni's siblings Donatella and Santo's initial involvement within the the family business shifted over time - especially after his death.

We loved The Circle, Netflix Originals stripped down the elements of living in an age of social media. Viewers enjoyed watching members in an apartment getting to know one another only through what they chose to share socially.

In Love is Blind, Netflix introduces a house of men and women that are separated by gender. Each group is able to go on multiple dates in pods; however, they don't get to meet one another in person until after they propose The show continues to allow them to have a getaway where they can spend time with one another in person as well as others who also got engaged. We follow their journey through them getting married as well as the reunion show. If you have yet to watch this series which took place over 3 weeks with hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey. You walk away with understanding the power of communication as well as a supreme social experiment in seeing if love is blind.

LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE

Little Fires Everywhere stars Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington who also serve as Executive Producers of this series. This miniseries drama is based on the 2017 best selling novel of the same name by Celeste Ng. Set in Shaker Heights, Ohio in the late 1990s, we find both of these stars as two mothers from very different socioeconomic and racial backgrounds. We find that the Richardson family is perceived as a picture-perfect household whose fates suddenly become merged due to an enigmatic mother and daughter who will forever change their lives.

The series explores what it means to have the weight of secrets that are kept within and outside of families as well as what it means to have an identity and the art of creating it. It also examines what motherhood means and the ferocious nature of what it means. It also looks at what happens when you believe that following the rules will ensure that you are keeping yourself away from danger.

We're always looking for our next True Crime show to binge and for the past few weeks, we have been enjoying this 6 episode series by the team at Wondery, The Dating Game Killer.

This series approaches one of the most dangerous serial criminals that killed on the East and the West coasts while keeping a few gifts for himself, presenting himself as a photographer and even taking time to be on The Dating Game in front of a national audience!

The hosts of the show have a conversational style in presenting all the crimes, arrests and victims that were involved. They also go into depth on what motivated him and how much of a collective effort had to take place to find him as well as to ensure that he stayed in jail to pay for his crime

We enjoyed bingeing Season 1 of The Circle on Netflix which looks at the power of social media, perceptions and who we are in this game. We are introduced to contestants who live in a building who never meet each other face to face. Each player has access to a closed internet where they are able to interact with one another, create a profile and play a series of games to win the opportunity to vote others out of the house. In addition to being able to share information as a group, they can interact privately one on one as well as in groups.

As members are voted out, new people move into the house and work to integrate into the social group that has already been established. As each person leaves, they are able to meet an individual of their choosing as well as to share their final thoughts through a video. Much like Big Brother, we're able to see each contestant to get to know more about them whether they are being themselves or impersonating someone else. By the end of the show we get to know a lot about the contestants.

Coworking spaces have become a mainstay in our day to day lives whether you work from there, attend events or have meetings there. Although there are a number of options, We Work has been at the forefront of this movement. For those that are fans of Wondery's Business Wars and Business Wars Daily, they have created a mini series known as We Crashed which follows the rise and fall of this popular coworking community space.

This podcast series looks at the genesis of the company, how they trailblazed in the industry, its corporate culture and how mismanagement initiated its decline.

Season 2 Premiers 12.26.19

Like many, we became fans of the stalker/ thriller YOU which began on Lifetime for its first season and starting on Dec 26th will continue as a Netflix Original Series. If you've yet to see the first season or need a quick refresh - we've got you. We meet Joe Goldberg (Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley), an owner of a bookstore in NYC who falls in love with a customer Guinevere Beck, (Elizabeth Lail) who becomes his girlfriend. We begin to see his increased stalking behavior as well as a number of things about his life to show that this is not his first time dancing with a deadly obsession. We also see how he interacts with her friends such as his relationship with Peach Salinger (Shay Mitchell).

We end the season realizing that his ex girlfriend Candace is alive and that he will be starting over in LA. We can't wait to do a proper binge of the second season during the holiday!

We love when we listen to one show and we're given a heads up about another. As we transitioned from Thanksgiving to Christmas, we found out about Wondery's scripted show, Blood Ties a True Crime podcast where we meet Eleonore and Michael Richland (played by Gillian Jacobs and Josh Gad) as they find out that they have just lost their parents while they were on the way to seeing them for a visit.

The death of their parents is amplified when they realize that their world is forever changed and that the secrets of their successful father will not only come to light but ruin his legacy. As a renowned cardiologist and health care magnate whose sun is also a doctor, there is much at stake as they learn more about his life.

Starting Jan 6th, ABC's The Bachelor is back with Peter Weber. This month, they have released this season's contestants so we can hit the ground running on this successful franchise.

This year, we're making sure that we listen to Bachelor Happy Hour, a podcast with Bachelor Nation and Wondery. Each week The Bachelorette's Rachel Lindsay (who is also host of MTV's Ghosted) gives insight onto what's happening in the house.

In HBO's 5 part series, we follow a number of characters who take us through the devastation of the explosion at Chernobyl, how it was handled by employees, how the government went about acknowledging the incident as well as coming to terms with the state of their actions.

But when a journalist found out through another neighbor that the psychiatrist did not own the Hamptons home and that the gardener was the owner an intricate story unfolds that shows the lengths that the psychiatrist went to in order to embed himself in this and other patients lives to their detriment. In this true story that is extremely binge worthy, you have to keep reminding yourself that this happened.

Every movement that drives her forward creates an entrance into King George IV's court as she breaks the hearts and fortunes of those that happen to fall between her and her ultimate ascension.

REMASTERED WHO KILLED JAM MASTER JAY

Musically speaking, there are a number of mysteries involving the deaths of great artists, musicians and performers. In 2002 at the age of 37, Jason Mizell (Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC) was added to this list. Friends and family of this artist have toiled over the DJ's unsolved murder. In Netflix's docu-series, ReMastered, each episode analyzes these deaths and in the latest installment (the first episode looks at Bob Marley's attempted assassination and the second looks at the political evolution of Johnny Cash) they investigate, "Who Killed Jam Master Jay?"

This show looks at his rise in the music industry in the 80s with Run-DMC along with interviews of those who were impressed and inspired by his work. But it all comes to a head when the series focuses on his murder when his individuals were buzzed into his Queens recording studio and moments later, they opened fire killing the hip-hop legend.

Theories of how this happened includes, looking at witnesses that were intimidated, security cameras that were tampered and more. As someone that was known as a peaceful force in the industry, the idea of having so many unanswered questions that have resulted in a lack of justice for his friends and family and no convictions is perplexing.

The Boston Globe's Spotlight Team sits down and investigates football's Aaron Hernandez as he climbed the ladder from high school sports in Bristol to playing with the New England Patriots and hitting the stage of the Super Bowl. But as quickly as he moved closer to his epic dream, he found himself a convicted murderer years later.

The investigative team looks at the story of Anthony Hernandez's life through the crimes he committed and how football via brain damage may have contributed to his violent behavior. Were his sexual interests in a masculine football culture also an element to how he approached his life? Did elite coach interests trump his needs when he wasn't ready to participate as a mature adult despite his skills? The podcast shares new documents as well as audio about his life, death and what has taken place since.

If you have yet to watch The Last Kingdom, we highly suggest that you start at the beginning and start bingeing now over the Thanksgiving holiday!

We know that the main character, Uhtred saw that his father was killed and that the Saxon army was defeated by troops that invaded. He was captured by Danish warlord Earl Ragnar and raised in a Danish camp alongside a fellow captive, Brida - a sharp tongued girl.

Years later, Uhtred is a respected warrior that has another tragedy that takes place when his home is purposely set on fire and kills his surrogate family, including Ragnar. He is now alone with Brida by his side to avenge the death of this man as well as to reclaim his homeland.

The conflict resides in whether he will choose between his country of birth or the people who raised him. He will have to learn how to navigate both as he is set on building a nation. For those that are caught up on season 1 and 2, there are great things ahead with the current season and plenty of speculation on what the 4th season could be.

In a culture where celebrities are constantly shared in our social feeds on what they are up to, this podcast by Wondery takes a different approach. What if your favorite celeb or mover and shaker had a life that you didn't know and you had to guess to figure it out?

Imagined Life presents the backstory of celebs and is presented in a way where you are the celeb and you are provided clues; how ever, you are not told who you are until the very end. The episodes are engaging as you learn their backstory and ultimately, to gain a new perspective on who these notables are.

LINE OF DUTY

Line of Duty is a British BBC police procedural show whose 4th season (which has Thandie Newton in the cast) has now come to Acorn TV. This show focuses on a fictional police anticorruption squad unit AC-12. This cat-and-mouse thriller that focuses on modern policing and corruption has a stellar cast within this show which has already begun filming season 5 and has been greenlit for a 6th season as well.

Each episode puts a different member of the squad as the lead in an episode as they are assigned cases where police corruption could be taking place on a case that is being worked on. Fans enjoy the well written show that is filled with plot twists and unexpected thrills without focusing on gore and scenes of gratuitous sex.

With characters weaved into each show, it may be tempting to catch your favorite star, but it is worth the wait to watch it without distraction and to see how their stories evolve within and across the seasons.

These business battles have shaped how we view brands, products, status and more and for those companies that exist, we're able to continue to watch their battles as they play out in real time.

Wondery's David Brown walks us through a number of business battles from their origin story, their awarness of their competitors (sometimes within the series a business engages in a battle with a new company). When possible, at the conclusion of the episodes focusing on a particular business battle, David interviews those who were a part of the company to find out more information on these wars. This is a highly bingeable show that takes you through a brand's history and brings an awareness to what it took for them to reach the success, pivots and failures that came their way.

MAKING A MURDERER S2

Three years after the docuseries, Making a Murderer appeared on Netflix (which followed Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey who are serving life sentences for the murder of Teresa Halbach), Season 2 drops this month. In these 10 episodes, both men are still serving their life sentences but this season is a followup of additional details and reporting that should give more context to this midwest case.

Season 1 of this True Crime docuseries focused on the theory that both men were framed by a crooked police system that planted evidence as well as creating an enviroment to instigate a confession from the men that they didn't mean to make. Since Season 1, there have been appeals and in June, the Supreme Court decided not to hear Brendan's case - both are still in jail.

This season focuses on Steven's lawyer, Kathleen Zellner and how she plans to fight the State of Wisconsin and how she is building her case. If you have yet to see the first season, it's highly suggested that you start with Season 1 as well as to follow @MakingAMurderer on Twitter for up to the minute news about this case.

With a stellar cast that includes Diane Lane, Christina Hendricks, Noah Wyle, John Slattery, Amanda Peet, Aaron Eckhart and more - this anthology series tells the story of people who all believe that they are descendants of The Romanoffs (Romanov), a Russian royal family.

The series spans over three continents with each of the 8 episodes taking place in a new location around the globe. Mad Men's Matthew Weiner writes and directs each episode which is released every Friday.
