NYFW kicked off its SS27 with a number of shows including Coach which took place on Sep 10th. They celebrated the 85th anniversary by presenting a collection of of slim and straight silhouettes. In addition the line includes loveworn materials and refined tailoring as well as inside-out construction. Of course, leatherwork is also an essential element of the collection and the brand. Creative Director, Stuart Vevers shared that, “for Coach’s 85th anniversary, I was thinking about memory and the way familiar things change as we live with them. I didn’t want to make a retrospective. We turned familiar Coach ideas inside out, exposed their construction, softened them and left traces of celebration on them. Having 85 years behind us gives us the confidence to look forward.” Attendees say archetypes that illustrate Vevers’ vision for Coach - trench coats, leather jackets, tuxedos, bias-cut dresses, and Western boots.
