Total knee replacement is a surgical substitution of the diseased knee joint with the artificial one (i.e. implant or endoprosthesis). Results of the multicenter studies have shown that up to 85% of patients are satisfied with the improvement of their life quality after the procedure. Novel equipment in the specialized orthopedic hospitals allows carrying out the knee replacement surgery with minimally invasive techniques. Thus, after undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation a patient can perform all usual activities without any restrictions.
When you should consider the total knee replacement
In Germany, total knee replacement is performed as the last-line therapy, as doctors give preference to medicamentous and physical therapy whenever it possible. Only when medications and conservative measures can not relieve pain, knee replacement is considered.
Total knee replacement in Germany is carried out in the following cases:
Osteoarthritis stage IV (or stage III with severe disability).
Severe traumatic damage of the knee.
Inborn joint deformities, including the complex ones (e.g. dysplasia in combination with arthritis).
Autoimmune knee lesions (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis).
Infectious knee lesions.
All these pathologies are united by clinical manifestations, i.e. pain syndrome, stiffness and difficulties while walking or bending the knee. The surgery is aimed at relieving the disturbing symptoms regardless of their root cause.
How you prepare for the arthroplasty
Although you will be able to walk on walker or crutches soon after the minimally invasive surgery, help with cooking, bathing, and shopping will be useful during first weeks. Make it sure that a relative or friend will provide you with all the necessary assistance.
During the rehabilitation period it will also be useful to make several modifications for facilitating daily activities, like:
Constructing the secure handrails along stairways or preparing the temporary living space on one floor in order to avoid walking up or down stairs.
Constructing the secure handrail in the shower.
Preparing the chair for bathing or shower bench.
Preparing the special chair with a firm cushion and back that is equipped with a footstool for leg elevation.
Removing all not fixed or slippery carpets.
In addition, you should inform surgeon about all medications you are taking currently. Such drugs as warfarin, clopidogrel, ibuprofen, and acetylsalicylic acid must be stopped several days before the intervention.
How the surgery is performed
Total knee replacement is carried out under the epidural or general anesthetic. A doctor moves aside the knee cap and nearby muscles via the few skin incisions. Sparing muscles is essential for the proper functioning of the implant. Reaching the damaged joint, doctor removes the affected parts of the shin and thigh bones. Joint surfaces of both bones are adjusted to the artificial joint implantation.
The endoprosthesis is fixed in the right position with the help of bone “cement”. A surgeon may also use the cementless method, when a bone grows naturally inside the prosthesis and fixes it. This option requires more time for the final healing.
Once the fixation is successfully completed, a doctor repairs muscles and skin with few stitches. A patient is moved to the recovery room. Once the surgical anesthesia is worn off, he is examined by an experienced physical therapist. In case no complications are revealed, patient may leave the healthcare institution the same day. After that a rehabilitation program starts. It may be performed in the specialized center or at home.

If you have ever been to any major city, you are always greeted by the spires and skyscrapers that seem to extend to the heavens. All the lights can become so overwhelming – especially at night when they are so obvious that even the astronauts in space shuttles can see them. There are certain parts of the city though that just stands out compared to the rest at night. These are the places that are considered active throughout the night and into the morning. It might be near the “night life” or the “red light district” and it seems to be helping these places as well. We are referring to casinos. Read more about its development here.
What Are Casinos?
Casino is not an inherently English term as it is derived from the Italian word for house: casa. However, there is a term for gambling house in almost every civilization that exists in this world. It is part of almost every culture, as people want to gain money by using other means. People gamble using a lot of things, from simple sticks and stones by children to actual property. All of this is for a chance to win more than what you betted for. There is a risk involved, but what game is considered fun without a little risk? After all, gambling houses also exist for another purpose: to entertain people.
As we evolved and changed as a species, we also influenced our cultures to do the same. Gambling houses also evolved from one form to another. It still serves a similar purpose, but the changes are downright massive in comparison to its older versions. These centers for nightlife tend to have a more sophisticated edge when people talk about it. From the looks and feel alone, modern casinos are a standout compared to before since all they want to do is to be discreet.
There are also a lot of preconceived notions about gambling in general. There are notions that only those with a range of discretionary income can play the games or that the environment may not be inclusive. However, everybody is welcome to a gambling destination as long as you have enough cash to play around and know the rules of the game.
On the other hand, you might not be into casinos even though you want to play. Maybe you feel that it is too crowded or the location doesn’t fit your style for you to participate. Most establishments actually operate legally and they do pay taxes and other fees for them to continue their businesses. Places like Las Vegas, Macau and Monte Carlo also bring in tourists because of the high-end betting establishments dotting these places.
You might be interested in an online casino 온라인카지노. It still functions as a casino but you only need a device and an internet connection in order to join. If you think that this is a scam, then you may have the wrong impression about these infamous entertainment centers. They usually operate legally and follow the same rules and regulations as an actual casino with just virtual games. You can play with real people and win great prizes without even stepping out of your own home. It is great for people who want to play and yet cannot go out physically because of their own busy schedule.
Not all betting games are available in online casinos. It really depends on the type of online casino that you are going to join in. Some specialize in baccarat because it is easier to film and stream online. Poker is also really popular with live dealers online, since you can play with more people there. The stakes are high and joining will usually have a fee, but the prices can also become higher as well. That is the beauty of it: Your money can double or even quadruple in just a span of a single game. Read more about this here: http://mentalfloss.com/article/56376/10-tips-beat-odds-casino.
Take note, however, that betting games are considered high risk, high reward type of games. You win some if you bet some of your cash. Be prepared to lose though, as that is normal in the world of casinos. Just make sure that if you are going to bet a large amount, you are pretty sure that you are going to win.

We’re in the thick of Football Season and earlier this month we chatted with Mark Schlereth who is a retired NFL player who played 12 seasons with the Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos. He moved onto being a football analyst for ESPN and now on Fox Sports. We also enjoyed seeing him on a number of episodes of HBO’s Ballers! So we know that he knows a thing or two about tailgating as well as homegating - which allows everyone to have a great view of the game as well as to have their favorite items to enjoy while cheering for their team. We wanted to know what his 3 essentials are if we’re enjoying a homegate at his house as well as some predictions on the 100th season of the NFL! Note that we talked with Mark Schlereth on Oct 10th of this month.
ATHLEISURE MAG: What are 3 items that we could find at your next homegating festivities?
MARK SCHLERETH: Being at home is what makes it so much fun and I love sharing my homegating tips! It starts with Gardein plant-based meat alternatives and they have everything that you can think of. They’ve got chicken, they’ve got beef, pork and fish. They have Spicy Chicken Sliders, Chicken Wings, Nashville Chicken Hot Tenders – whether it’s your vegan friends, veggie friends or any kind of friends for crying out loud! It’s all delicious and they’re going to love Gardein.
Everybody loves snacks that goes with dips and that’s just science. Hidden Valley Ranch mix is used in restaurants all across America. You can have that same restaurant-style ranch at home with Hidden Valley Ranch Signature Buttermilk Recipe whether it’s pizza, wings, veggies – you name it! Everything is better with Hidden Valley Ranch. My granddaughters call it dip dip. She say’s, “Po Po give me some Dip Dip.”
No party is complete without chili! When it comes to chili, it’s all about the beans. Bush’s has been around for a 100 years and you know them from their Baked Beans. Their beans are slow simmered, full of flavor and perfect for spicing up your party – 3 Bean Chili, White Chili and even Pumpkin Chili! You can make your chili better with Busch’s Beans.
No homegate is complete without the go to of TV’s LG Oled. TV Experts have dubbed it the number 1 TV of 2019. The C9 4K TV has over a billion rich colors, it’s beautiful and stunning picture quality with Google Assistant so that you never have to take your eyes off the television set as they have a 55”, 60” and 77” sets.
AM: Currently the NFL is in its 100th season. What NFL season picks do you have that you can share with us?
MS: Well I mean, to me – when you even look at last week, if you control the line of scrimmage, and I called the game in London last week, it was exquisite and the game was between Chicago and Oakland. If you thought that the Oakland Raiders were going to go out to London and be beaten by the Chicago Bears, because historically they have been a better football team – but the team that controls the line of scrimmage and physically beats up the other team, that’s the team that won about every game last week. So it’s really interesting to see how these teams are physically put together! The Patriots obviously still a great team. The Saints are doing it right now without their starting Quarterback and winning every game. They have been amazing as well. The San Francisco 49ers are undefeated for crying out loud! Think about this, Tom Brady and his understudy, Jimmy Garoppolo are the only 2 Quarterbacks right now that are currently quarterbacking undefeated teams. Jimmy Garoppolo with the 76ers and Tom Brady of course with the New England Patriots!

More than 100 million Americans rent their homes, according to City Lab. Renting was once just for individuals who didn’t have a down payment or couldn’t secure a mortgage, but a growing trend has emerged. Due to an increasing number of Americans choosing to become a ‘lifestyle renter’, locations up and down the U.S. have started building luxurious rent-only communities in order to meet demand.
Transforming the property market
Colorado, Arizona, and Texas have all risen to the challenge of building rent-only communities. NexMetro Communities says they have built 2,800 rental properties in communities across all three of these areas so far, and work continues. In Austin, three active rental communities designed especially for the older population have recently appeared. However, the biggest trend among rent-only communities at present is family homes. Research shows that families are after houses rather than apartments, and want their homes to ooze luxury. As such, property developers in the area looking to expand their portfolio into the rent-only market can rest assured knowing that Austin home builders are capable of creating on-trend, opulent homes that will spark the interest of lifestyle renters. Features such as contemporary layouts and generous outdoor areas are advised in these community homes because they give renters the luxury lifestyle they want.
Luxury living
Luxury homes in the U.S. cost an average of $1.55 million, according to Redfin. But these communities are providing renters with luxury at a fraction of the cost. For example, Pradera, the 250 luxury unit that recently went up in San Antonio, has a pool, dog park and wash area, and community entertaining space. Whereas Colorado’s Commerce City’s development provides renters with a firepit, outdoor gas grill, shared pool, and shared hot tub. With these kinds of features on offer, it’s easy to see why these communities are growing in popularity.
A long-standing trend?
Research shows that over the past 60 years, house prices have surged by 112%. In comparison, wages have gone up by 50% during this period. As such, individuals are seeking out more affordable homes in a bid to cut costs. However, it remains to be seen whether this trend is one that younger generations will stick with. For years, homeownership has been the ultimate ‘American dream’, so there’s the possibility that these individuals are using rental communities as a stop-gap and to build equity before finally stepping foot on the property ladder.
Rental communities are the latest building trend to hit America. Multiple developers have seen the nation’s need for affordable family housing with added luxury and have stepped up to the plate to offer housing in close-knit communities that cater to the requirements of all.

Ten years ago, if you had mentioned the word “athleisure” to somebody, they’d likely have replied with a confused stare. Today, however, it’s one of fashion’s leading trends. As its name suggests, this is the progression of sportswear into mainstream fashion, and is largely inspired by those of us who choose to flaunt our kit outside of the gym.
Follow our top tips and you can be rocking the athleisure look in no time!
Tops
Love wearing sports tops? If so, who could blame you? They’re not just comfy, they’ve long been the pinnacle of creative design. From bright leotards to fancy sweatshirts, there’s pretty much a top to suit every taste. And they look great with everyday clothes, like a skirt or your favourite pair of jeans. Try pairing Mom jeans with a bold leotard underneath. or why not boost the fit factor of your outfit with a pair of athletic trainers? Whoever said that you need to exercise to be sporty?
Bottoms
Ah, jogging bottoms. Designed for maximum comfort, they’re perhaps the best thing to come out of sports fashion yet. Luckily, this trouser type is no longer being confined to the home — the best dressed are wearing them as a serious style statement. So, why don’t you follow suit? You won’t just look good; you’ll also feel it. If you’re wanting to blend comfort with class, you may want to accompany your soft trousers with a dark t-shirt. For a more breezy, casual get-up, how about a patterned top or sweater in a lighter shade to wear with your joggers? The beauty of this kind of clothing is that it goes with practically anything!
Trainers
Practical, soft and reliable shoes. We could only be talking about trainers. Now, the feature of this shoe design in mainstream fashion is nothing new. In fact, it’s been happening for decades. But it’s fair to say that athleisure is taking casual sports footwear to the next level. Have you spotted the current trainer and feminine dress combo trend, for example? All you need to do is pair a traditionally pretty dress — displaying, say, a floral pattern or a taffeta fabric — and a pair of trainers, typically chunky in build. This juxtaposition of fancy and functional styles makes for huge visual appeal.
Save your pennies
As long as you plan your outfits wisely, athleisure needn’t be a pricey trend. After all, you’re effectively just finding new ways to wear clothes that you already own. With your wardrobe all sorted, you’ve got more time to spend on your life admin, whether it’s sorting those little jobs around the house or doing some financial planning.
Swept up by fashionistas, sports fans and comfort cravers alike, athleisure is one of the hottest styles on the market. With these key tips, you’ll be able to make your own mark on it, hassle-free.

Technological advancement has made it easier for people do a lot of things and one of those things includes gambling. For the last couple of years, the gambling industry has taken a turn to provide better services to players. One of the ways it has done this is not by opening new and more doors to land-based casinos but by placing a hold on the player’s smartphones. Now, one can find different online casinos available in their phones, laptops and other devices at the click of a button.
Things have become so much easier that players around the world flock to the internet to find a game of their choice. According to Wikipedia, online casinos offer more rewards than the land-based ones. Online casinos also offer a faster pace of play so the factor of instant gratification is included here. Furthermore, these online gambling games allow for greater dynamics and enhanced convenience. All these points have made online gambling really popular, now a person can access their preferred and desired game at all times, anywhere and from the comfort of their home.
Online casinos which are available on websites and apps provide their customers with a lot of incentive. They offer a huge variety of games from every kind such as blackjack, poker, slots, progressive slots roulette, live casino, baccarat, bingo, keno, etc. You can find the top mobile gambling games on Smartphone gambler. All these games have variations as they come with a different set of rewards and different themes. The themes are a really fun attraction because each has an interesting graphic design and sound. There is life like animations, there’s virtual reality integrated and live casinos offer a different and authentic gaming experience.
Other than that, the most popular games are available for mobile devices like iOS, Windows Phone OS, and Android, making it possible for players to bet and potentially win big as they go.
Online casinos are of four types with each one having its own set of pros and cons. There’s web-based online casino, download-based online casino, virtual casino, and live dealer casino games. In web-based online casinos you don’t need to download software to play on the website. The download-based online casino, as the name suggests, requires you to download software in order to play and wager. The good thing about this is that it runs faster than the web-based online casino.
Online casinos make the games available for instant play, there quick and flexible, and you can play them from any device you like. Since majority of the population and target audience of the casinos uses smartphones, it makes sense for the online casinos to support mobile play on smartphones and tablets such as the ones on iOS, Android and Window Phone OS. Online casinos require for you to make an account and there’s no requirement for you to sign up again if you have an account.
Many times the question of bonuses arises amongst players who are looking to play at online casinos. As stated earlier, online gambling games offer so many bonuses, rewards, promotions and even invite to events. You get welcome bonuses, referral bonuses, cashback or insurance bonuses, no deposit bonuses, non-cashable bonuses, bonus hunting and comp points.
The security and safety of players can be insured through the online game and it’s always a good idea to check if the game is licensed or not. Since a lot of information is being put online about you including your payment details it’s necessary you check up on the licensors. They are the UK Gambling Commission, Malta Gaming Authority, the Gibraltar Gambling Commission, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, and the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission.

PHOTO COURTESY | TV Land’s Younger
We’re excited to share our recent conversation with TV Land’s Younger, Sutton Foster who plays Liza. Her character plays a woman who has been out of college, volunteering in India and landing her first big job in publishing. But in reality, she is a 40 year old mother who is recently divorced who due to life’s situations had a large gap in her resume from a career in publishing and finds that she has to relive her 20’s in order to be eligible for work! In season 6 the charade continues as we watch her character balance her faux life with her real one and building as well as maintaining both aspects of her life. Sutton is a multi-talented entertainer who has been successful on TV as well as on Broadway, We took some time to find out more about how she chose her career, what inspires her about it, finding out about what’s going to happen in season 7 and more.
ATHLEISURE MAG: Clearly, you’re so talented from being a dancer, a TV star and being on Broadway! What was the moment that you realized that you wanted to be an entertainer?
SUTTON FOSTER: Haha! I think I was probably 7 or 8 years old doing a dance recital that was basically a Christmas Pageant at a dance studio in Augusta, Georgia. It was The Augusta West Dance Academy and I got to play an elf. It was my job to open up the toy box to let the toy soldiers out. I realized that it was the first time that I made an audience laugh because I was being a ham or doing something ridiculous every time I would open up the toy box. I think that that was the moment when I was like, “ooo there’s gold in them there hills!” I knew that I liked this and I think that that was the beginning of the end.
AM: That’s the best! What was that feeling like when you booked that first gig that you ever got?
SF: Oh my gosh. My very first professional job, I was cast as a dancer in the first national tour of The Will Rogers Follies which was back in ’92. I was 17 years old, I was still a senior in high school and I went to a call back here in NYC and I got cast! I just remembered being stunned and it was my first professional job! It was my first big break, I got my equity card and it was just this big big deal. I remember that my first thought was, “I have to tell my mom.” I was there at the audition and they were like, “yes you got it.” It’s wild and it’s still wild for me to think about it now. I’m still sort of amazed. I grew up watching and listening to cast recordings and the Tony Awards. I did shows in community theaters and high schools for fun. I never thought that people got paid to do that and then you could make a living out of it. I still feel like that 15 year old kid that’s still dreaming and that I get to do this and paid – which is really cool.
AM: Which is amazing and means that the magic is still there for you.
SF: It’s really awesome to be able to do this for a living and I feel that way every time I have a new job!
AM: A lot of our readers love you in Younger and love tweeting about it when the show is on. With you guys being in the 6th season and getting renewed for the 7th, what is it about your character that originally drew you to wanting to be apart of the show? What are you looking forward to in terms of prepping for the upcoming season as well?
SF: When I first read the script, I knew it was Darren Star and I thought, “I want to work with Darren Star.” I have reached a place in my career where I want to work with people that are inspiring. When I read the script, I was like, “oh I could play this character.” I loved the fact that she was reinventing herself at 40 years old and that there was this idea of going backwards while being able to stay where you are. A lot of people ask me, “would you go back to your 20s?” and I say no! I would never go back, I love my maturity and I love where I have evolved to but, I like the fact that this character can relive or experience a part of her life again in a fun way.
The show has evolved so much. The show was initially about Eliza’s – my character’s lie and what she had to do to be in the workplace. The show has evolved into what women have to do in order to navigate their professional jobs and relationships within workplaces and also outside of them. I’m excited to see where season 7 will go! I have no idea and I don’t know if the writers even know. I’m always asking what will happen, but they go back into the Writer’s Room in November. I’m really curious and I don’t know if there will be an additional season or anything else that is going on. I feel like all of the characters – especially last season – they all evolved. They’re so much fun to play because they all have so much history and stuff. The relationships with the characters have grown so deep and all of us have grown so much off screen as well. I don’t know how it will all end up. I don’t know if Liza will be walking off into the sunset with a man. I have a feeling that she will walk off into the sunset with herself or her girlfriends. We’ll see!
AM: Ahhh no spoilers here! Do have 3 things you do as morning rituals or routines that you get you through your day?
SF: Morning rituals - the first thing I do every day is to make my coffee every morning. I’m a big time coffee maker and I have partnered with LACTAID which is my go to for that coffee in the morning. I grew up in the south so whole milk was what I had growing up and then I sort of veered off from it with alternative milk like almond or coconut milk. My daughter is 2 and a half and she drinks whole milk and I started getting milk envy! That’s what’s great about LACTIAD it’s 100% real milk, it just doesn’t have lactose in it so it’s been really awesome for me and especially as a performer to be able to have milk back in the house. I’ll make coffee and sometimes in the morning, I’ll make smoothies with it. Once I have my coffee, the second thing I do is I go and wake up my daughter – now that school has started, she gets up at 7am (I wake up at 6:55am). The third ritual of the morning is that we sit together and read a book – me with my coffee and her with her milk and we ALWAYS cheers!
AM: How did this partnership happen between you and LACTAID?
SF: It just felt like an organic fit. To be honest, what I love about LACTAID is that it’s about having the benefits of real milk in the house for everybody no matter what people’s tolerance is to dairy. LACTAID also partnered with Sesame Street and obviously they are a big part of my life right now as well so it all came together – Sesame Street, LACTAID and milk! It was a perfect bullseye!
AM: I’m sure that you’re constantly traveling whether you’re going to set or flying off to a premier. What are 3 things that tend to be in your carryon that gets you through your flight or makes you feel at like you’re at home?
SF: Oh wow! I always travel with my pillow. I probably have an unhealthy relationship with my pillow – I’ve got it with me right now! When I was a kid, I used to take my pillowcases off of my pillow and carry them around like it was my blanket. I would even put them in the refrigerator to keep them cool. It’s still like a security blanket. I have the same pillowcase that I had as a kid. It’s from the 70’s it’s from Cannon and it’s called Monticello and is vintage with little pink hearts on it. I go on Etsy and Ebay like 2 times a year and look for the pillowcases and I order them! I mean the pillowcase I have now is so see through that you can barely see the roses on it. But I have a backup ready to go – so if anyone finds pink roses by Cannon from the Monticello set from the 70s – let me know! I’m addicted to it and they’re so soft. I always fly with earplugs because I’m not a great airplane traveler. But when I have them in, I don’;t hear the sounds and stuff so that helps me out. I always travel with this little thing that I actually crocheted – this little bag which is always in my bag (literally pulling it out now). It has my sleep bag, Zicam, Benadryl, PURELL, a charger, hair ties, a pen and 2 items that I have always carried with me when I traveled. They are my travel beads which someone made for me as a necklace over 20 years ago as they know I don’t like to fly and a pair of my favorite socks! I mean is this some serious details or what?

The search engine Google is one of the most useful information tools to emerge in modern times. “Google” is a recognized verb. Googling, “how to cook gluten-free recipes” is harmless and informative. Googling, “is my husband having a heart attack?’ can be deadly. Approximately eight out of 10 Americans search for medical information on the internet. When is it safe to use the internet to learn about health symptoms and treatment and when are you playing with your life? Hypochondria has now turned to Cyberchondria. We turned to Dr. Niket Sonpal, a New York City internist and gastroenterologist for some answers.
The Perils of Using Google For Health Questions/Symptoms
1) You don’t know how reliable a site is
You have to pay attention to things like, how old is the information on that site? Is it backed by real clinical studies from Universities or institutions like the Mayo Clinic? Does this site have an agenda? Have they put information up there as “clickbait” to lure you into buying a product they are selling such as a supplement, diet program, or book? If you google the information on other sites, so other sites corroborate what was said? Are the quotes coming from a physician who is board-certified in his or her sub-specialty and can you find this physician online?
2) Googling Symptoms Can Cause Health Anxiety
Google just about any symptom and there’s bound to be results that suggest surgery or connect the symptom with a form of cancer. These extreme conclusions can cause serious anxiety, especially for people who are already afraid of health problems. This anxiety happens so frequently today, there’s a name for it—cyberchondria. According to the British news source DailyMail.com, millions suffer from it. Cyberchondriacs turn to the Web for comfort about their health issues instead of a health professional. They can become obsessed and the amount of time they spend checking the Web for information can interfere with their daily lives.
3) Stay Away from Health Message Boards
Don’t share your worries on message boards or ask for prescription drug recommendations. Dr. Sonpal has seen people ask questions such as: Has anyone tried Prozac for depression? They hear one person with a negative experience and then shy away from trying a drug that could potentially help them.
If you go to a random message board with your concerns, people are going to reply with horrific diagnoses, potentially lethal information, and their own experiences with prescription drugs that won’t be identical to yours. Physicians don’t moderate these message boards. If dangerous/erroneous advice is given, there is nobody to stop it from being published.
4) You can misdiagnosis yourself for better or worse
Perhaps you awake one morning to strange bumps all over your body. You put your symptoms into google and decide that based on several pages of descriptions, you have prickly heat and you treat it yourself according to what is published on google. What if the reality is that you have adult chickenpox and you leave it untreated? Conversely, the hypochondriac side can emerge, where you google symptoms and over-diagnose yourself because you have been having some chest pain that day. You think you are having a heart attack when the reality is, you were simply having upper gas pain.
5) Don’t use Google in the midst of a health crisis
If your infant suddenly stops breathing now is not the time to Google, “how to perform CPR.” This is when you call 911 and get medical help on the ground as soon as possible and take the direction that the operators give you on the line while medical help is on the way. It is a good idea to google how to perform CPR in a non-crisis situation from a reliable website such as https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/cpr/performing-cpr/cpr-steps
6) Google does not know you and has never seen you
When you visit an internist or any other responsible medical doctor, you fill out an extensive form. This form includes, among other things, your age, height, weight, sex, gender race, medical history, medications you are taking, surgeries you have had, allergies, family health history, diseases you currently, suffer from,
mental health history etc. A doctor uses all of this to gather information in making his/her diagnosis and make sure that if he/she is dispensing medication that none of it interacts with what you are already taking. Google does not know any of this!
When it is OK to use Google as a tool for basic health questions?
Dr. Sonpal says, “the simpler the question, the better. If you are absolutely sure of what an ailment/injury is, and you have had it or seen it before, then visiting a reliable site for information can be useful.
Examples of Topics that are Safe to Google
