The statistics on teen drivers are startling. In 2018, some 285,000 teens were seen in emergency rooms because of their involvement in crashes. Further startling is that nearly 2,500 teens die from car crashes where they are the driver. The number one cause of teen death is car crashes.
If you have a teenager in your life who love and care about, those statistics can keep you awake at night. Teaching and enforcing teen driver safety has to be a priority for parents as they are about to let their teen embark on the responsibility of being a driver.
But the age-old question remains of how to get teens to be safer and more responsible drivers.
Read on for tips to remember so your young driver practices teen driver safety.
Practice, Practice, Practice
In most states, gone are the days where you take a few hours of driver's training courses, watch a video or two. Then you turn 16 and are out on the road.
Most states have some form of a graduated license. The truth is with most anything you are learning new, the more you practice it, the more comfortable, experienced and confident you become. You know as an adult driver, you have the experience that gives you instincts for how to react in certain driving situations.
Make sure your teen has had hours and hours of supervised driving before they go out on their own. Make sure they drive in a variety of practice scenarios before allowing them to drive independently.
Put Strict Driving Rules In Place
Teen drivers will push for independence. This is one time where it's important to be a strong and even strict parent. The statistics are pretty startling on what happens when teen drivers are distracted.
The more you can remove distractions from their driving experience the better. Put some driving rules in place like:
No texting or talking on the phone
No driving with other teenagers in the car
No food or drink while driving
It's a smart rule to require your teen to check in before they drive and once they reach their destination. You should know where they are driving and be confident they are comfortable with the route they will take.
Connect the Financial Aspect of Safe Driving
Being a driver means you have many responsibilities. Your teen needs to understand the finances that come with driving a car. Most teens get their driver's license and are anxious and excited to get their own car. Yet, they need to understand the financial responsibilities associated with that too.
Teach them about the cost of insurance for a teen driver to be behind the wheel. You can even do some easy research to show them what happens to the cost of insurance when the teen driver is involved in an accident.
If they want to buy a car, talk through what cars cost. If they have a job show them how to use the paystub maker when applying for a car loan. There is nothing like paying with their own money to motivate them to be safer with the car they are driving.
Get Your Teen to Practice Teen Driver Safety
From the day your kids are born, you worry about them at each milestone they reach. Becoming a driver is one of the big ones because there is so much potential danger when they are behind the wheel.
The more you can instill teen driver safety expectations and practice safe driving with them, the greater their chances of staying safe.

Due to the recent surge of professionals working from home, we have spent more and more time staring at our computers, televisions, and smartphones. Afternoon headaches may have become common for you, and it’s likely you’re finding it difficult to fall asleep. Could this be the cause of blue light, and do blue light glasses correct this? Let’s look at the science.
Blue light is often blamed for many modern ailments. From cancer risk to migraines, staring at electronic screens, the producers of blue light could actually be detrimental to our health.
Visible light ranges from violet/blue light through red. Incandescent light includes all the colors in the spectrum and intimates the sun's rays, whereas fluorescent lights do not. Electronics cause us to have an increased exposure to blue lights, aka fluorescent lights, and even though the output of these lights isn’t high, it can cause significant problems with prolonged exposure.
The highest source of blue light is the sun, and exposure to the sun's rays plays an important role in circadian rhythm (sleeping schedules). With 90% of Americans living indoors and reviving the vast majority of their blue light from electronics, it has disrupted the circadian rhythms and leads to headaches. Blue light migraine glasses are thought to remove these negative effects.
While there is no concrete evidence that blue light glasses help in the long term, there is an acknowledged eyestrain associated with staring at electronics. Blue light can lead to headaches and fatigue, and regular breaks from screens are recommended to prevent this.
There is evidence that blue light disrupts our circadian rhythm because it suppresses melatonin, the sleep hormone, which helps you fall and stay asleep. If your electronic equipment has a ‘night light’ setting, it’s recommended you turn it on during the night time in case you need to work a late shift. Stick to displays with warm tones to minimize headaches.
Even still, blue light doesn’t directly cause harm to a person long term, because the light produced by blue lights is well below the levels we’re exposed to outside.
We’re not saying that blue light glasses don’t have their benefits, but as of right now, the American Academy of Ophthalmology states that electronic devices can’t do long-lasting damage to your eye. Still, blocking exposure can benefit your sleep schedule and reduce headaches, which is enough for most to purchase a pair.
If you want to minimize eye strain specifically, you can try the following things:
Use a matte screen to reduce screen glare.
Use the 20-20-20 rule when it comes to resting your eyes from exposure: every 20 minutes, look at another object that is 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Sit at least arm's length from a monitor. Never sit directly in front of a television.
Use eyedrops to freshen up dry eyes regularly.
Wear glasses instead of contact lenses if you’re working long hours.
Ensure that the light in your room is bright enough to reduce the contrast of the screen.
It’s important that you reduce screen time at least an hour before bed. Instead of watching TV, playing a video game, or surfing the internet, you can pick up a reading or drawing habit. Switching to these habits can also help you relax before bedtime.
What about those that have eye strain because they have to stare at a computer all day? In this example, using blue light glasses can benefit you greatly, especially if you can’t limit exposure more than you already do. Try to keep your smartphone away from your bed, turn off the television, and close the blind at night to improve sleep and reduce migraines long-term.

Sometimes there's nothing that says it better than flowers
This year's Valentine's Day may have to be a little different from what we're used to, but that's not to say it should be any less special. Whether you're spending the special day apart, or together, it's more than possible to turn it into something you'll remember for a long time.
Although you love your partner deeply, it can sometimes be difficult to think of exactly the right way to show it. Here are some ideas for how to bring an extra sprinkle of love to this year's festivities.
Bring the Party Home
While a lot of us won't be able to head out on the town this Valentine's Day, that's not to say you can't bring the townhome to you! If your partner loves nothing more than a night at the casino, then you can bring all the fun home for them.
It's super easy to make your own roulette wheel, and they'll be amazed at the effort you've put in. All you'll need is some cardboard, a split pin, some paints, and a little imagination.
If you want to keep things vanilla, then you can play for your favorite chocolates or even money, but if you want to spice things up, then you could suggest a game of strip roulette. Depending on how competitive you are, you might want to find out how to win at roulette before the game even starts!
Spice Up Something Traditional
For some people, nothing says 'I love you' better than a bunch of flowers. However, a bunch of hastily grabbed flowers from the gas station is not the thing that most of us are after.
If you want to show how much you care, then why not consider putting together a bouquet of your own. Carefully chosen flowers are a magical thing. Remember where you first went out for dinner and include the flowers that were on the table in your bouquet.
Think about the time of year it was when you first met, maybe you could include something seasonal? If your partner has a favorite bloom, then be sure to include that too. A great big ribbon can cover a multitude of sins at the bottom of a messy bouquet, so don't forget to buy some before you embark on your floristry project.
Movie Night, Together or Apart
Whether you're lucky enough to be spending the night with your loved one, or you'll be celebrating separately, a movie night is an easy surprise to put together.
If you're celebrating separately, then pick a film that you know you can stream on Amazon or Netflix, coordinate your start times, set up a Zoom call and it'll be almost like you're spending it properly together.
Of course, if you're both in the same place, then you can really put together something special. Buy a couple of bottles of soda and spend a little time whipping up some hot, homemade popcorn. You can keep it traditional with sweet or salty, but some more unusual flavors could be fun to try.

One of the biggest hurdles in buying authentic football shirts is tracking down a seller that can actually give you the product, especially if you are wanting something authentic rather than a reproduction run or a hand-made replica. While all football merchandise is technically a "replica," some are far more authentic than others, and narrowing your focus down to a Gerrard shirt can mean that you have to search even harder to get what you are wanting.
Before you can start looking, you should ideally know what kind of Gerrard England shirt you are looking for. After all, there are a lot to choose from, and there are only so many authentic examples of each: do you want the Liverpool 2009-2010 away shirt? There might only be 100 left in your country up for sale. The England 2006-2008 away shirt? Perhaps there is closer to 200. Your decision impacts what you will be looking for.
The differences between the shirts can also matter because some stand out more than others. A lot of Stephen Gerrard shirt options (based on the shirts worn by the man himself) are similar in terms of their basic design: mostly white with red or blue highlights, then other details depending on the year and where the shirt was used. It is easier to mix up these shirts compared to, say, the red 2006-2008 away shirts.
Do you want your shirt to be in perfect condition, or just very good? There are only so many Gerrard shirt owners willing to sell theirs, and many people will have kept their own in a state where it can never get dirty or muddy. Others will have worn it often enough to leave permanent damage or dirt on the material, and some might have even stitched up rips and tears that they have caused while wearing it.
The quality of a shirt changes how much you will have to pay on average, but it also impacts how the shirt looks and feels. If you are focused on getting pristine versions of your favorite Gerrard shirt designs and won't settle for anything below 'very good quality,' then your list of options just shrunk – and your average price went up.
On the other hand, there is not always a reason to justify buying a damaged shirt unless you plan to fix it up yourself. If you are not wanting to take care of the damage yourself, then paying more for an excellent-quality option can be a much more convenient option. It all depends on what you are looking for and how important quality is to you.
Price is king when it comes to any replica memorabilia, no matter what it is. Unless you have plenty of money to spare, you will probably be trying to keep the price down, and most people will gravitate towards the cheapest option that they trust. Keep in mind that certain shirts are worth more specifically because of when they were made, how they look, how many there are, or even how many are left in good condition.
Not all excessively low or high prices are scams, though. Some people don’t understand the value of what they are selling, either undercutting it (usually people who aren’t sports fans and see the kit as a generic piece of clothing) or over-estimating it (people with a lot of team pride, or who idolize certain players).
There are a lot of ways to buy older shirts online, but if you want a good (and more importantly, real) Gerrard shirt, you need a site that can offer it safely. Some online marketplaces are full of scammers and fakes that will reproduce valuable items and sell them as the real thing, whereas others are more controlled to prevent that kind of problem from happening.
There are a lot of sites out there that you could use, but when you want a Gerrard shirt or something else that is equally specific, you need to look at related sites first. Certain online marketplaces have been specifically founded to let sports fans sell their memorabilia in a safe and reliable way, minimizing the chance of fakes being put up and bought for high prices. Others are more general but still try to control items so that fakes and scams are much less likely.

If you have yet to see tonight’s 5th episode, spoilers are ahead! We start off tonight’s The Bachelor episode with the toxic OG versus New Girl dynamic. Matt James addresses what Katie brought up to him and he said that the “US vs THEM” mentality is a culture of bullying and rumors that had been going around that could hurt others. He explained that a person who has to push someone down, to lift someone up - that’s not the kind of person that he would want. Of course, he pulls Brittany to the side BUT now the girls want to know who said it. Brittany shares what’s been going on and that she was called an escort. MJ suggests to Anna that she should talk to Matt and let him know what she did.
Anna talks with Matt and lets him know that she heard rumors about Brittany and when she met her, she felt the need to share it with her. She says how bad she feels and that she feels like she is breaking out into rashes over this. He explains that he has to be true to himself and that he can’t imagine Anna being on the journey to find love with him. He swiftly lets her go and walks her out as she cries and apologizes.
The remainder of the women at Nemacolin watch in surprise as she leaves. The fact that the women that were initially there claimed that they were oblivious to the behavior in the house. Victoria tries to go on a campaign to make herself look better and even other girls apologize - no one believes this and it seems like it’s a night of cleaning house. Ryan tells Matt that Victoria told her that because she was a dancer, she thought that she was a whore and laughed about it.
Ryan tells Victoria was she said and Victoria goes over to Matt to try to commend him for what he said and to also try to make herself seem innocent. He asks her what part of being a ho could be taken the wrong way. Of course, he stops the cocktail session to go straight to the rose ceremony. Victoria also figures out that Katie is the one that looped him into what was happening. She is heard bad-mouthing the girls in the house to the producers.
The roses given at the ceremony are given to Brittany, Ryan, Rachael, Serena P, Magi, Kit, MJ, Jessenia, Katie, Abigail, Chelsea, and Serena C. Matt sends Victoria, Catalina, Lauren and +1 home.
Chris comes to the ladies and he says that things are changing as they are past the half way point. He gives them the 1-on-1 card which is with Rachael. Rachael meets Matt and learns that she will be spoiled. They see celebrity stylist Ty Hunter and she sees a number of gowns, shoes, champagne and more. She tries on a number of looks in front of Matt. She is also given a pair of Christian Louboutin heels and it’s so cute to see her reaction and to see how genuine she is to have time with him. Rachael comes in to see the girls and has a number of bags, wearing her dress and is gifted another dress that she is going to wear to dinner. She leaves the girls as they think about the time that they are not getting with them.
The next date card arrives for: Serena P, Bri, Katie, Pieper, Serena C, Ryan, Michelle, Brittany, Magi, Abigail, Chelsea, Jessenia and MJ.Kit receives the 1-on-1.
Back at the second part of Rachael’s date, she receives the rose and we can definitely see how they complement one another.
At the group date, they hit the farm and do a number of chores, He lets them know that although he lives in NYC, he is from Raleigh, NC and he grew up on a farm. Although MJ takes the lead to agree to do a number of the activities, some question whether it is authentic. Pieper takes a moment to get a few kisses from him and then other girls “just realize” that they are all dating the same guy. Matt does try to spend time with each of them, but it’s hard when the other girls see that he has connections with others. The second part of the group date brings the girls together with him.
After toasting the girls, he asks to have some time with Chelsea and pulls her first. He then talks with Abigail who says that being on the farm date allows her to understand her grandparents farm that she has never been too. She shares that if she were able to have children, there is a possibility that her children could be hearing impaired. Her birth father left her after she got cochlear implants and she voices her concern about whether others would be like that to her. Matt is really good about being able to empathize with others whether it’s a shared experience or not. He then reaches out to MJ to find out her role in the bullying. Of course she says that she brings the house together and doesn’t do that. Brittany comes in to take a moment with Matt. When MJ comes back to the girls, she lets them know that she was called an antagonist in the house. She asks if anyone wants to talk about it since she leads “by example.” Jessenia lets her know that she mentioned MJ because she stated that there was a Varisty and JV squad. Jessenia explains that MJ made the house uncomfortable for the girls. Katie hops in and supports Jessenia and agrees that MJ is deflecting.
Rachael and Kit hang out at home as Rachael sends positive vibes to her for the 1-on-1 date which will be at his place. Kit shares that her happy place is in the kitchen with her mom and that she loves to cook. She’s hopeful that that will be part of their date. Matt gives a rose to Abigail. MJ decides that she is going to clear up her character as she’s there to be with Matt and not the girls.
Kit’s date is pretty cute and chill. Matt likes to have his dessert first and they make cookies together. As much as Kit has grown up with a luxurious lifestyle as the daughter to Cynthia Rowley, she also has such a relaxed sense of being which is welcoming. She receives the rose.
As the girls talk about the upcoming rose ceremony, a card arrives say that Matt needs to know the truth from Jessenia and MJ. He asks them to arrive prior to the ceremony so that he can find out what happened. We see the women bring their luggage to the lobby.
At the end of tonight’s episode, Abigail, Rachael and Mari go into the rose ceremony with roses. We’ll definitely see how tonight’s episode will play out tomorrow between the showdown of MJ and Jessenia and then go straight into the rose ceremony.
Each night, we’ll tweet about The Bachelor and you can chat along with us (@AthleisureMag + with our Co-Founder/Creative + Style Director, Kimmie Smith @ShesKimmie) to see what’s taking place!
Each week we will let you know who our faves were last episode and if we’ve changed up since then as it pertains to who we think should go to Hometowns if we were choosing right now! We will also say who we think should take it all.
We also suggest a podcast that we’re newly obsessed with, Wondery’s Bachelor Happy Hour which is hosted by Rachel Lindsay (contestant on The Bachelor Season 21; The Bachelorette Season 13) and co-hosted by Becca Kufrin (contestant on The Bachelor Season 22; The Bachelorette Season 14) to get their feedback!
We learned a lot more about Matt James and the women that would be competing on the show. We thought that Hometowns would be given to Abigail, Bri, Jessenia and Brittany.
Well, this week had quite a few twists and we’re glad that the most toxic girls have been removed and hope that makes the other girls stop all the mean girl antics - Abigail, Bri, Rachael and Brittany.

Your health is important because it can affect your life in so many different ways. Being healthy can become your ticket to improve your mental wellness, control your weight, and reduce your risk of developing chronic diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, and heart diseases.
Boosting your health is an achievable task that will only require your time and effort. Contrary to popular belief, this journey doesn’t always require you to shell out a hefty sum of money because you can actually boost your health without breaking the bank.
To drive the point home, here are four ways to help boost your health:
1. Take Supplements
While some people have the time to prepare well-balanced meals every day, others have their hands full with many other things that cooking meals have become a tiresome chore. If you qualify for the latter, consider taking supplements to ensure that your body receives essential vitamins and minerals every day.
Taking supplements is one way of boosting your health as this product can add nutrients to your diet. Supplements can also improve your physical performance when working out, change body composition, build muscles, and delay fatigue.
You can find many types of supplements today, so make sure to click here and compare options from different online and offline stores.
2. Eat More Fruits And Vegetables
The maxim that states, “you are what you eat” still remains true to this very day. The food that you regularly consume can significantly affect your health and wellness—and consuming excessive amounts of processed foods will only have adverse effects on your health.
Another way to boost your health is to avoid eating processed foods and swap them with more fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are great sources of folate, vitamin c, and potassium. Eating at least three servings of fruits and vegetables every day can also prevent constipation and keep your gut healthy.
3. Work Out At Least Thrice A Week
Eating healthy and staying physically active are two of the oldest tricks in the book when it comes to improving your health. Changing your diet into something healthier can boost your bodily functions, and pairing it with regular physical exercise allows you to experience more health benefits.
Exercising at least three times a week can help control your weight, combat health diseases, and illnesses, and promote better sleep. Working out is also a great way to improve your mental health as you can socialize with other people, and ease anxiety and depression.
4. Drink More Water
Your body is made up of 70% water and requires water to function properly. Dehydration can actually lead to life-threatening complications, namely heat cramps, low blood volume, kidney failure, and coma.
You can avoid these symptoms by drinking at least three liters of water every day. Water is vital in boosting your health because it carries oxygen and nutrients to your cells, help aid digestion, and flush out harmful bacteria from your body. Water can also protect your vital organs and tissues and prevent constipation.
Work With Your Doc
You can reap better results from your efforts to boost your health when you ask for help from a healthcare professional. Your doctor can give you tips on how you can change your diet and get more regular exercise without putting your health and safety on the line.

We’re 26 days into the new year and without question, it has definitely been one that’s a wild road with a lot more hope for us to navigate across all fronts. We checked in with Julie Potiker, author of Life Falls Apart, but You Don’t Have To: Mindful Methods for Staying Calm in the Midst of Chaos to leave us with some pearls as that will allow us to be ready to embrace a better 2021!
1. Allow Yourself to H.E.A.L.: In 2021, turn your focus toward experiencing the fullness of every beautiful, joyful, silly, fun, or wonderful experience you have. Use the H.E.A.L. method, originally created by neuroscientist Rick Hanson: Have a good experience. Enrich it to install it. Absorb it as if you are filling your body up with the good feeling of the experience. Link positive and negative material.
For the “link” step, you can do this in the moment by recalling something painful or upsetting and allowing the pleasant feelings of the present moment to replace those old feelings. You can also use this step any time you feel frustrated, upset, or angry. Call upon a positive experience you’ve installed in your brain and use it as a mindful focal point rather than ruminating on the other unwanted feelings.
2. Label Negative Emotions: Practice R.A.I.N. When you experience anger, frustration, sadness, or any other negative emotion, recognize it by saying, “Oh, that’s anger” (or whatever the emotion is) “coming up right now.” The mere mention of the emotion calms down the brain. Then allow it to be there for a few moments while you gently investigate why it’s there. Finally, nourish yourself by looking inward and asking what you need to hear or do right now to help yourself feel better.
3. Do What Gives You Joy: Life is full of emotional chaos, but bringing it back to focused activities that give joy to your soul can mean the difference between making or breaking it day to day, year to year. Take a few minutes to write down a list of everything you can think of that brings you joy — little things and big things alike — then commit to doing one thing from that list every day.
4. Get Grounded: When you feel anxiety ramping up, focus your attention downward and feel your feet on the floor. Breathe deeply, keeping your focus on the sensation of your feet (i.e., bare, in socks or shoes, whatever — feel it all, just as it is) on the floor. This is an instant tool to break the cycle of anxiety.
5. Transform Suffering Into Love (Tonglen): When you experience suffering — whether from a personal tragedy, a global event, or anything in between — use the Receiving-Sending meditation to transform that suffering into love. Breathe in the pain and sorrow; breathe out love and compassion. Breathe in the suffering; breathe out peace.
If you have yet to see tonight’s 4th episode, spoilers are ahead! We start off tonight’s The Bachelor episode with the women debriefing about Sarah leaving the show as they lounge at Nemacolin. The conversation is fine until Victoria begins bashing Sarah. Katie lets her know that since she is not there, there’s no need to continue to talk about her. Victoria says that she will say what she wants, when she wants. Clearly, Katie is next on her list for her to eliminate as she had the same plans for Marylynn and Sarah. The two talk separately and the tension between them continues. Matt James continues with his second group date and looks to connect with the women. The women ask how he is doing and he assures them that he is there to continue his journey. Ultimately, Chelsea has a heart to heart with him by telling him about her hair journey and how it is so important for women and personal to them. He explains that although he has never felt that way, he can sympathize with her on those feelings. She receives the rose.
We continue onto the cocktail party as Anna and Victoria plan on how they will grab him first so that they can talk. He actually talks with a number of the women and although Pieper gets to chat first! By the time Victoria sits with him, Chris Harrison walks in and lets him know that he needs to see him. The girls see him walk to the front and they assume that Sarah is coming back as they see a car pull up.
Brittany emerges from the car and is followed by 4 additional cars (including: Kim, Catalina, Michelle and Ryan - these women were teased initially as being on the show, so it’s interesting that they held them back to come in tonight). Each car has women in them and they are now being added to the house! This causes quite a stir understandably. With all of these women under the same roof, this is going to be a crazy situation for everyone. Matt comes in and lets the original group know that he didn’t know about this twist and that he just wants to be able to learn more about the women. The rose ceremony takes place after the cocktail party. Of the new girls, Kim is the only one that does not receive a rose. From the OG cast, Khaylah and Kalia do not receive one. Rachel, MJ. Serena P, Chelsea, Pieper, Bri, Magi, Michelle, Mari, Ryan, Kit, Serena C, Abigail, Katie, Victoria, Lauren, Brittany, Jessenia, Anna and Catalina continue on in the process.
The first date card is brought in by Chris. Mari, Bri, Abigail, Brittany, Ryan, Catalina, Magi, Anna and Victoria are all on the group date. Matt is in need of a pep talk and Ben Higgins (former Bachelor) comes by to point him in the right direction and has planned the date! Matt has created a fall race that has a number of activities like a field day as they race to Matt. The winner will get a prize and this is definitely an individual activity. Racing in a thousand-pound pumpkin as a canoe is pretty interesting. Mari wins the race and even Victoria acknowledges that she’s glad that an OG won. Victoria has visions of grandeur of being the “queen” of the group - even though a Miss Universe of Puerto Rico is now a fellow competitor!
Brittany and Anna come from Chicago and apparently, Brittany is suspected to be an escort. Anna lets Victoria this info and it adds fuel to the fire because they saw her deeply kissing him when she first met him. So the claws are out for sure. The group date rose goes to Bri - although he does shout out Brittany and Anna for loving the conversation that he had with them. Anna brings up that Brittany’s intentions are pure and lets her know that when she arrived, her friends let her know that she received warnings about her. She says that in front of everyone on the group date. Brittany says that
The next date card arrives and Michelle gets the one on one date. On their date, planned by Chris, he is having them take some leaps of faith and a scavenger hunt. Matt states that he felt something and that’s why he wanted to have her on this date to know more about her. Their day date includes a hot air balloon which is always a nice touch. At their dinner, they have a heart to heart talking about her being a teacher, how she talked about George Floyd to her students and more. She receives a rose as well.
The next group date card arrives and the claws continue to be out. Brittany tells Katie that there is a rumor being said about her that she was an escort. Katie is over the bullying and we think that she will step in for sure. The next group date starts and it seems like it will be a physical one. Mia St John is on the date and wants to know if they are ready to fight for Matt in front of a live audience. The live audience is the other half of the house. Why the show always thinks that these kinds of physical dates are a good idea is beyond us! The women are a bit battered and bruised and Matt calls it to have everyone go straight to the second part of the group date.
On this portion of the date which only has members of the original women on this date, they spend time making fun of the new ones. Again, Katie tries to reason with them and they’re not having it. She pops out to Matt and lets him know that there are a lot of inappropriate comments being said about the new women to the point of having damaging statements being made about them. She apologizes for telling him; however, he is glad that she let him know about what is going on. He let her know that he has no tolerance for that behavior.
We thought that Hometowns would be given to Abigail, Bri, Jessenia and Khaylah.
Well, this week had quite a few twists! This is the first week that we have a new pick due to Khaylah not getting a rose this week. We’re including one of the new girls in the mix as there could be chemistry there. We’re going to stick with - Abigail, Bri, Jessenia and Brittany.

When it comes to hunger and cravings, there may be some confusion. Our friends at Huel shared insight on this. We’ve all felt hunger. It’s the sensation we get when we want to eat food. It’s a physiological mechanism designed to tell us when we need to have sustenance. However, in the Western world, food is in plentiful supply all around us and our interpretation of hunger has become confused.
Broadly speaking, hunger can be viewed in two ways. Firstly, physiological, also known as stomach or true hunger, is where you are genuinely hungry because you feel low in energy and haven’t eaten for a long time. In other words, your body needs food. Secondly, psychological, or mouth hunger, is where you fancy something to eat. This is when you have a craving.
Cravings can lead to a preoccupation with food. We want food, especially ‘bad’ foods, more than we did before. When we restrict ourselves from eating the foods we desire, it can have a bad effect on our mood. This increases temptation and when you then eat something you’re craving, you enjoy it even more. This can cause a negative cycle of mood changes that leads you to want to snack more, and then you recognize the intense pleasure next time you have a craving. Cravings become harder to curb.
The trap continues. Just thinking about food triggers the behavior you want to avoid, i.e. eating. It’s especially hard as food is constantly around us, especially as we are spending more time than ever at home. It’s such an important part of our social lives, we see advertisements for tasty foods everywhere, and it’s frequently the topic of conversation. None of this is helped when your always around family and they may be snacking around you when you’re trying not to think about food. Harder still, we often use food as a reward. We treat ourselves, and junk food is a frequent reward of choice!
The nutrition team at Huel (Huel.com), the world’s best-selling complete nutrition brand, has put together a list of a few practical tips to help you curb your cravings. As you take control of your cravings, over time you’ll realize that you don’t actually need the food that you’re craving, it’s just a mindset. The frequency, duration and intensity of the cravings will soon diminish.
Eat regular meals and stick to a schedule – get into the habit of not skipping meals even if you are trying to be ‘good’ or because you feel guilty about what you ate earlier
Listen to your body – eat regularly and only when you are genuinely hungry. Learn the difference between physiological and psychological hunger
Identify what’s causing your cravings – keep a food and feelings diary by jotting down what you eat and when, and how you feel before and afterwards. This may help you identify triggers and problem times of the day, and to recognize if you're snacking for comfort, boredom or loneliness
Find a hobby or interest – if you are snacking for comfort, eating will not make the problem go away. Do something to occupy yourself to avoid nibbling. Try chatting with a friend, exercising, watching a movie, or having a relaxing bath
Make eating a separate activity - many people snack while doing certain things, and consequently, the activity then becomes a signal for a craving. For example, watching TV and snacking, eating popcorn at the movies. To curb this, only eat at mealtimes, get out of the habit of eating while watching TV and when at home, confine eating to the kitchen or dining room
Have regular drinks – this will help to keep you feeling full. Hot drinks are particularly useful as hot liquids empty from the stomach slower than cooler ones, and occasional sugar-free sodas can help to satisfy your taste buds
If you get the urge to eat, look at the time and wait half an hour before having something
Brush your teeth or use minty mouthwash after meals. The minty taste will help curb cravings. This is especially useful after your evening meal, as we often associate cleaning our teeth with the last thing we do with our mouth for the day
Adopt an eating strategy to help with discipline and to maintain a routine. For example, some people find intermittent fasting useful as it minimizes the window for permitted eating
Snack sensibly – fruit and berries are a great choice and will help curb sweet cravings. Sugar-free jello is also a great snack
Don’t let a slip-up lead to more – if you do succumb to a craving, avoid the mindset “now that I’ve eaten that, I may as well make the most of it”

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is now on the verge of becoming Roman Abramovich's latest managerial victim at Stamford Bridge following a poor run of bad results.
A 2-0 loss to former Premier League champions Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Tuesday night has left Chelsea facing an uphill task to secure a champions league place, having spent more than £200m in the summer.
The Blues' loss to the foxes was their fifth loss in their last eight League encounter as first half goals from Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and England international James Maddison sealed the maximum points for Brendan Rodger’s men, heaping more pressure on Blues boss Frank Lampard in the process.
The loss on Tuesday night at the King Power Stadium means the Blues, who will be hoping to return to winning ways on Sunday when they lock horns with Luton Town in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round, have won only a game in their last five Premier League games.
Considering the fact that Roman spent in excess of £220million on signing seven new players during the last summer window, their present form will be of great worry to their Billionaire owner, who backed the Chelsea legend so much last summer window in the hope that he could build a team strong enough to challenge for the Premier League title.
Truly, up until recently, the Blues looked as though they could challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool, who have dominated the Premier League title race in recent campaigns.
Their most recent loss to Leicester City has left Lampard’s men in the eighth position, five points adrift defending Champions Liverpool in fourth place. That gap should have been extended when Liverpool played against Burnley on Thursday night, but Burnley took victory away from the defending champions with Footy Accumulators helping several fans claim some winnings as lay their predictions.
The Chelsea boss is now facing a vital run of matches with Luton Town this coming weekend in the Emirates FA Cup followed by League matches against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur, and Sheffield United. Matches Chelsea club hierarchy would expect Lampard must win if he wants to keep his job.
Whether Lampard is handed more time to turn results around remains to be known but British media reports indicate that Roman Abramovich has already made up his mind on a replacement.
Reports have it that the Blues would not look to name an interim manager to take charge for the remainder of the campaigns and, if Chelsea’s all-time scorer was to be sacked, the search would start for an instant replacement at Stamford Bridge.
RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann is one of the leading candidates to replace Frank Lampard at Chelsea but the Blues may struggle to lure him to depart the German Bundesliga club in the winter, as they challenge Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title.
It is believed that Nagelsmann will bring out the best in underperforming summer singing Timo Werner who shone like million stars at Leipzig under the German coach. Timo has failed to spark under Frank Lampard.
Axed Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel, is another leading contender to land the job he was sacked by the French club last year and would be available to instantly take up the Stamford Bridge job.
Right now, the pressure is on Frank Lampard to turn things around as soon as possible and save Chelsea's campaign from disaster.
Fat burners are commonly used by athletes who wish to lose weight, refine their abdominal muscles, and accelerate the melting of fat. Fat burners are available as supplements in the form of capsules or tablets, but there are also natural fat burner products like caffeine and green tea. There is a wide range of fat burner supplements available that fall into different categories. Ones that cause your body to accelerate the natural fat-burning process, known as thermogenic fat burners, are the most effective, as they work with natural physiological processes.

“Thermogenesis” is the scientific term for heat generation. While some fat burners aim to specifically burn fat through chemical processes, thermogenic fat burners accelerate the body’s natural processes for generating internal heat. They accelerate your metabolism and help you to work out at a more intense level. Quite simply, your metabolism speeds up and becomes more efficient. That results in burning more fat and calories from exercise. The fat burners help to give you an athletic edge, but they should not be used as a substitute for exercise. Therefore, thermogenic fat burners, like the Burn-XT thermogenic fat burner, are ideal for athletes. But are they completely safe?
While it is true that some people can experience side effects from thermogenic fat burners, by and large, they can be used safely. However, there are some things you should be aware of before you begin using the supplements.
If you are using thermogenic fat burners solely for losing weight, make sure you do not use them for extended periods. The fat burners can be the ideal supplements to a combination of diet and exercise, but they should not be used to try and maintain a specific weight if you are not combining the fat burners with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
You may be tempted to cut out carbohydrates while taking thermogenic fat burners, in the belief that you will lose more weight. But you need to have an energy source because the fat burners work by burning up fat and calories. So, you must have a good source of carbs while taking the supplements.
Most thermogenic fat burners contain caffeine, so when you first start using them, you could experience an overly intense caffeine buzz. Start by taking small amounts to see how the supplements affect you and make sure you only take them at the appropriate times. Take the thermogenic fat burners before you do exercise, and do not take them before bedtime.
Even though thermogenic fat burners are made from natural ingredients, they should not be taken forever. Your body needs a break from any new substance you put in it because your body needs to maintain a natural balance. So, only take the supplements as recommended and never stay on thermogenic fat burners forever.
There are loads of different types of thermogenic fat burners on the market, so it can be difficult to know which ones are the safest and if they will cause any side effects. It is a good idea to look at online reviews to see which fat burners people recommend or have had issues with. Although side effects are largely uncommon, you could experience things like headaches, diarrhea, restlessness, an elevated heart rate, and elevated blood pressure. If you experience any such side effects, talk to your doctor. You may need to simply swap from one brand of thermogenic fat burner to another.
At the end of the day, thermogenic fat burners are largely safe when used appropriately, helping you to lose weight and improve your athletic performance.
We caught up with celebrity fitness trainer Erin Oprea who is known for sculpting Carrie Underwood’s legs as her personal trainer and top country star Kelsea Ballerini. They have partnered with SmileDirectClub to make sure that we’re all looking and feeling our best as we begin to navigate 2021.
We have all been in the midst of our workouts and we’re always about shaking it up. Both have shared tips with us that will make 2021 just a bit easier. Erin believes that, “Feeling confident and empowered is so important and something I feel really passionately about, which is why I partnered with SmileDirectClub to provide the below wellness tips to get everyone moving and smiling into the New Year. SmileDirectClub’s clear aligners have transformed many people’s lives to give them the confidence they needed to reach their fitness and wellness goals.“ Below their tips, you’ll also see a social media giveaway hosted by SmileDirectClub which will allow you an at-home workout with Erin and Kelsea to continue to give you the proper motivation.
Get some fresh air: With the COVID guidelines in effect, we’re all looking for new ways to stay healthy and energized, an alternative to an at-home workout is to get up and go outside! Fresh air gives you energy. I know it's cold. That's why we have coats and coats gloves. Pull-on your coat, grab your gloves and just start walking.
Start moving: The one piece of advice I give to anyone asking how they can start on the path to a healthier lifestyle, just start moving. People ask, "should I start with exercise or nutrition?" If you want the best answer, start with both. But one can also lead to the other. Say you have a junk food craving. If you get up and go for a walk, often that craving subsides. So without any extra effort, beyond just going for a walk, you've already made more nutritious decisions for your body as you let go of that junk food dream. The more you move, the less you're going to crave.
Kelsea Ballerini’s tip - Power of positivity: The most important tool in your fitness tool belt to get your health and wellness in check for the new year is a positive attitude! I love to laugh. I love to have fun. A good laugh burns calories and makes pretty abs. When you smile, it creates positive energy.
Smile: I always tell my clients to smile during their workouts. Smiling tricks your brain into releasing endorphins and can help you reach your fitness goals more efficiently and keep you empowered to stick to your routine. Smiling helps set you in a positive mindset to reach a goal and plays a critical role in keeping you moving when you want to give up.
Break the cycle of sitting: How often do you sit and say, now I have energy? Never. The more you sit, the more your body wants to sit.
Don’t forget: Movement is a gift. Don't look at it as a chore — take advantage of the gift. And never forget to stop smiling.

I feel so blessed that I’ve been surrounded by family since March. There were seven, and sometimes nine, people in our pod— three kids; two fiancé’s, my husband, our nephew and three to four dogs. We fought for office space but ate memorable meals and did at-home Peloton work-outs together.
I personally had no choice but to take it down a notch. I’m still not meditating but I did download the Calm app. I also said yes to Zoom panels, speeches and was able to virtually connect with tons of people — new and old.
The coolest thing was getting to launch my dream cosmetics company, JonesRoad Beauty, from the comfort of my home (with a few in-office days). Who knew the power of a young scrappy team mixed with a seasoned professional could simply just get it done.
Travel! It’s the first thing I’ll do when we can. My husband and I love our vacation time together and as a family. I miss the UK and Paris and had also promised my youngest son a trip to Tokyo as his college graduation gift. I miss the Bahamas, which is one of our favorite warm weather destinations, too. I also haven’t been able to see my family in Chicago and really want to see my 85 year-old Dad.
Two of our sons put their weddings on hold, so I’m really looking forward to those celebrations.
Jones Road s releasing 25 shades of face pencils and 4 shades of eye pencils in mid-January. We’ll also be fully back ins tock of our Miracle Balm, which we underestimated the demand for. There are a bunch of monthly launches in the pipeline after that.
My wellness brand, EVOLUTION_18 is releasing several delicious new products to support beauty from the inside out. Plus, new episodes of my podcast, Beyond the Beauty, with amazing founders. And hopefully, I’ll get a chill spa day with my sister, which we usually do once a year, or I’ll finally meditate...

With the Covid 19 crisis making 2020anunforgettable year for all of us, it was a strange time to have the most successful year of my career. This year I have won the European championship (ELMS) the world championship (WEC) and the 24 hours of Le Mans. I became the youngest British winner of the Le Mans as wel las the youngest winner of WEC (World Endurance Championship). This year has felt even weirder due the races held behind "closed doors", closed to the public spectators. Covid tests proved me wrong in thinking nothing would enter that high up my nose, it didn't take away from a year where I won 6 of the 9 races I entered.
I said to myself that I was going to rekindle my German this year, 2 phone apps and the subscription page to an online language platform later I still haven't given it the time it needs. It's one of those things that won't make me a faster racing driver and therefore doesn't take priority, but then again that's exactly how I excused myself this year. Maybe next year will be the year.
Next year I am signed for another season of WEC, and ELMS with the same team as 2020 alongside both returning and new teammates. Another strong season next year is almost a make or break for my career with new manufacturers on the horizon to enter in 2023 and their development likely to start in 2022. Next years performance could solidify my name amongst the top to be first in line fora seat in one of the upcoming campaigns to win the top class of sportscar racing. The pressure is definitely going to be piling on over the winter months of training to make sure I'm in the best shape possible to hit the ground running where I left off this year.

I think that on a very big level, there has been a massive awakening of people on the planet. There’s so much. Anytime there is an election year, the pandemic, the amount of variables that have been going on is massive. Where people saw protests, I saw people coming together. I saw so much alignment in a way that we haven’t had in my lifetime that I can remember as an adult. I thought that that was special.
For me personally, when things slowed down and got quiet, I had an opportunity to listen. It was a year for me to let go and listen. When you sit down and listen, the answers are there. I realized that there were people, places and things that I could let go of now. I wondered why I was holding and why I was chasing to-wards them which could take me off my path. Being still, I saw relationships that I could let go with love and without any drama. It also allowed me to see some of the most amazing people on the planet that I am able to call friends. That goes to my family as well. It’s been a crazy year. My brother’s fiancé passed away very early in March not COVID related and we have never been closer. He lost his fiancé, we've been separated by a pandemic, I’ve seen him once the entire year and you know my brother and I get to FaceTime and we’re closer now then we were 10 years ago so there are gifts within the loss and that forme was great. So relationships with my brother and others has been great.
There are a couple of massive things I’m really proud of! One being Openfit. It’s a brand that basically I’m going back to coaching. So we’re filming a massive program that will be out in the world and we will film it in Jan. It will go out in Feb. I want to be the modern day Richard Simmons - having great access to health. I can't dance as good as Richard but man, it's going to be fun and special. All this programming is so intense and there’s no place for people that are beginning or trying to get back in. So Openfit and I have built this wonderful program and I can’t wait to do it because I haven’t coached this way in years. It will be available in streaming and I’m really excited about it. It’s exciting that people will be able to bring me back into their homes and living rooms again.
The other big thing is my CBD company! I started GetUP, a CBD company a year ago.COVID was tough, I couldn’t do shipping and getting things out – it really helped me identify the purpose of what this was.I know that there are people who may not be familiar with it, but they trust me and this will be the people’s CBD. CBD is so expensive and this is going to be like, "hey pay what you can scale" and I will send it to you. I want people to have access to health and it shouldn’t be exclusive based on affordability. It’s a really big initiative that I have decided to put together and I’m really excited as that will be available in Jan. It’s a really good start to the new year. I wanted to demystify fitness and I did, food/nutrition and I did and now I want to do the same thing with CBD. I love the name because no matter how much you get down, you get back up and that’s the mantra of 2021.
THE BUZZ
I encourage people to sign up and go to my mailing list Widerstrom.com. I send an email out every week. Sometimes it’s what just in my head or little tips. If you’re getting that, you know about things that are going on with me, challenges that I’mlaunching, Transformation will be in there I’m sure and I have things like that happening but I always say get on the mailing list and we start from there.
