TAP launched in New York City in 2017, opening its first café on the Upper West Side. What began as one small counter built around three Brazilian staples, tapioca sandwiches, açaí bowls, and pão de queijo, has since grown into a five-café everyday Brazilian café,” with locations across Manhattan, Queens, and Miami, including our newest café in NoMad, which just celebrated its grand opening this August.
TAP serves wellness-driven Brazilian fast-casual food, 100% gluten-free and built around three pillars: tapioca sandwiches, açaí bowls, and pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread). The signature ingredient across the menu is tapioca flour, milled from the cassava root, which forms the base of our sandwiches, egg wraps, and cheese bread. It’s naturally gluten-free and a staple of Brazilian cooking that’s also become a favorite among fitness- and health-conscious eaters. We layer that with real açaí, Brazilian- grown coffee, and tropical fruit, so every category on the menu, from breakfast through dinner, carries the same Brazilian, better-for-you DNA.
Being 100% gluten-free isn’t a marketing angle for us; it’s a promise. So many of their guests are part of the celiac and gluten-free community, and walking into TAP means they never have to ask a single question about cross-contamination. Every item on the menu is safe for them.
That trust is exactly why they operate from 7 AM to 9 PM at NoMad: they want TAP to be part of someone’s whole day, from a morning coffee and açaí bowl to a lunch and dinner tapioca sandwich, without ever having to think twice about what’s in it. Fast, healthy, and full of flavor, that’s the whole idea behind TAP. And being gluten-free, isn’t exclusive to those who need it; it’s just a better way to eat for everyone.
We suggest that you try these 3 acai bowls - Samba Bowl (an authentic açai with homemade granola, mango, and passion fruit – a bright, tropical mix), Monster Bowl (a 24oz bowl loaded with real açai, fruit, granola, chia, and coconut flakes), and a Power Bowl (built for peanut butter lovers: real açai topped with granola, banana, strawberries, a swirl of peanut butter, and milk powder - contains nuts).
Their tapioca sandwiches are TAP’s original signature: a naturally gluten-free “bread,” griddled fresh from tapioca flour milled from the cassava root, filled with real, honest ingredients. We suggest you try their Philly “Rio” Steak, Prosciutto Classico and BBQ Mushroom.
There Pão de Queijo is Brazil’s beloved cheese bread — naturally gluten- free, made from tapioca (cassava) starch and real cheese, with that iconic chewy-inside, crisp-outside bite. It’s one of the most nostalgic foods in Brazil, and they bake theirs fresh daily using a special cheese blend of mozzarella, parmesan, and swiss. Try their Traditional, Spicy, and Pesto.
