ATHLEISURE LIST | PECK SLIP SOCIAL

January 19, 2025

Peck Slip Social is a bar by locals, for everyone that is located on Peck Slip in New York City’s Seaport district.

Alex Davis and Learan Kahanov (Madam Secretary, Clerks III, Power Book II: Ghost) opened a bar in their own neighborhood. Alex is a middle school principal by day. Learan, has been in the neighborhood for 25 years, is a cinematographer who has worked on feature films and is a co-founder of the annual Taste of the Seaport which raises funds for two local public schools.

This bar's food is a collaboration between Chef Taylor Miller (Perry Street, Tin Building by Jean Georges, Ichiran) who leads the kitchen and Learan with a MediterAsian menu that blend the cuisines together as well as reflecting the team's heritage and travels in the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Asia.

The menu has an interesting breakdown. The 3 Smallest Plates we have in mind to share includes the Spicy Cucumber Salad; Lamb Lumpia with wasabi-honey mustard; and Garlic Confit Schmear with grilled bread.

3 Small Plates we like are the Housemade Hummus (Learan’s family recipe); BEK Fried Rice with applewood smoked bacon, house made kimchi and fried egg, and Bao Bun Sliders with pulled pork, pickled daikon, chili, fresh cucumbers and Japanese BBQ sauce.

For their Smallish Plates we'd like to share the Mushroom Shawarma, which is served in a pita with fries, and the mix-and-match Skewers of lamb, mushroom, chicken and steak.

As the owners love whiskey, there are over 100 whiskeys on the menu, with a strong focus on bourbon and rye showcasing the best of American spirits — each category is listed geographically by state (and country) so guests can quickly find an old favorite or try something new. Whiskey flights are also available, offering the opportunity for exploration. Some really exciting options are the 11-year aged Stolen bourbon from Indiana, the 18-year aged single barrel Elijah Craig bourbon from Kentucky, and the heirloom Jaywalk rye from New York.

3 Cocktails we're eyeing include, the Morgan with Woodinville 100% Rye, lemon juice, honey, egg white, cherry cacao bitters, and brandied cherries; Moti with Hibiki whiskey, agave, blood orange juice, soda, Japanese chili and lime bitters, and jalapeno; and Laura with Redemption Rye, Creole and Peychaud’s bitters, absinthe, orange and star anise.

The bar is divided into two open rooms: one with communal seating and a small stage featuring a 200-year-old standup piano for weekly jazz nights and singer-songwriter performances, and another side set up for play with a free pool table, sofa seating, board games and more. A 24-foot bar, the longest in the neighborhood, connects the two spaces.

ATHLEISURE LIST | FOMO MOMO

January 18, 2025

Fomo Momo founders Ankita Nagpal and Impreet Sodhi met in New York and bonded over a shared love of food. They first launched Fomo Momo in 2021 when they debuted a pop-up at the popular Smorgasburg food market after developing and testing their own recipes. Then they launched a food truck in Jersey City in 2023. This is their first brick-and mortar-location.

They infuse Indian flavors — like masala spice blends, tandoori marinades, flavorful chutneys and more — into Tibetan momos (a type of dumpling), which crossed the border into Northern India, where they became popular street food in the '90s. The momos are paired with Indian chutneys like tamarind and Indo-Chinese condiments like the spicy Schezwan, made with red chilies. The fusion of momos served here has Indian flavors and spices, they don't keep the Tibetan flavors. They come in a variety of fillings and can be steamed and fried.

They feel that it's important to have options for everyone. The signature Momos are filled with vegetables (or chicken) but the cheese filling is new, added in response to customer requests. The soy chaap (Southeast Asian soy-based protein) options were expanded, plus there are plenty of vegetarian snacks and different paneer cheese sandwiches. There's no pork or beef on the menu, and some of the vegetarian dishes can be made vegan, too.

The New York City menu includes sandwiches unique to the location offered for the first time. All come on large round potato buns with cilantro chutney and crunchy onions. Three to try are the tandoori mayo laced Crispy Chicken Sandwich; and Butter Chicken Sandwich and Paneer Makhani Sandwich, both topped with rich butter chicken gravy.

Signature momos have 3 filling options: vegetables, paneer or chicken. They can be enjoyed plain with a chutney for dipping or in one of a variety of preparations like Schezwan, an Indo-Chinese condiment with red chilies; Makhani, butter chicken sauce; and Tandoori, marinated in spicy yogurt with ginger and garlic, then finished in a tandoor oven for a smoky flavor.

Pair this with the Tandoori Paneer Fingers, paneer marinated in Tandoori sauce, battered and fried, Masala Fries dusted in spices; and Samosas. All the snacks are great with chutneys like chili garlic, cilantro, or tamarind.

Their Soy Chaap nuggets have a variety of flavors including Malai, Tandoori and Achari (spiced yogurt with Indian pickled mango).

Pair your meal with their housemade Masala or Rose Lemonade; housemade Chai; and Indian sodas like the rose-flavored cola Thums Up (national soda of India) and lemon-lime Limca.

ATHLEISURE LIST | CASA SOL AT MAXX ROYAL BODRUM RESORT

December 16, 2024

It's officially time to think about planning our vacations for 2025 and we can see staying at Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort in Mugla, Turkey and eating at Casa Sol which opened in May of 2024.

Casa Sol is a concept collaboration between the resort and the F&B team with Corporate Chef Naoki Katori leading culinary and Shavinraj "Sha" Gopinath along with global consultancy Proof Creative which focuses on the drinks. The design of he bar and restaurant was led by GEO_ID.

This concept is situated just steps from the beach with dazzling views, Casa Sol transforms from a tranquil scene for a quiet breakfast into a relaxed locale for lunch in between dips in the ocean and a sophisticated nightlife venue as the sun goes down and the vibes pick up. The venue is entirely al fresco, with a mix of bar and restaurant seating for all group sizes.

The cuisine at Casa Sol is progressive Latin, merging traditional recipes with original elements to create an eclectic mix of dishes. The Chef de Cuisine José L. Castañeda Neri is an accomplished chef with a passion for innovative, high-end cuisine and has over a decade of experience in luxury hospitality.

For Breakfast, we suggest: Chilaquiles, which are corn chips cooked in a rich molcajete tomato sauce topped with sour cream, white cheese, avocado, cilantro and fried egg. For Lunch: Pescado Zarandeado, which is grilled seabream rubbed with chilies adobo served with citrus micro salad. For Dinner: Blackened Rib Eye, which is ribeye crusted with recado negro served with roasted eggplant puree, broccolini, roasted onion, chiles toreados & tortillas.

Casa Sol’s signature cocktail menu is split into two sections Sun Hats (lighter, more refreshing daytime options) and Shoulder Pads (features slightly more complex, spirit-forward drinks designed to enjoy into the evening), a nod to the 1980s beach town nostalgia felt throughout the offerings.

We suggest their Canta-Trio, a blend of tequila blanco, a citrus trio of grapefruit, lime and orange, agave and a spiced salt rim, The Balmy Cobbler with Pisco, pineapple, balsamic and berry shrub and lemon, and The Runway, a clarified milk punch with aged rum, banana, house-made grenadine, lemon, mixed berries, orange and a house spice mix.

If you're interested in hosting an event at Casa Sol, they offer a range of options from small gatherings to full buyouts. Their team can provide detailed information to tailor it to your needs.

ATHLEISURE LIST | HEARTY & HEALTHY

December 15, 2024

This month, we hop down to the East Village to Hearty & Healthy which opened this month for those with a wide range of options that are great for guests with diverse dietary preferences (vegans, vegetarians, pescatarians, gluten-free) who want to dine together, along with creative cocktails and mocktails. Chef/partner Eder Hernandez first launched this concept 3 years ago as a pandemic virtual kitchen that has since delivered over 300,000 meals. With such demand for healthier comfort food in the area, he and industry veteran Andee Rosario opened this brick-and-mortar restaurant and bar.

For lunch, we suggest that you try the Signature Harvest Salad with roasted butternut squash, quinoa, apples, avocado, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, and kale; Blackened Salmon Salad with avocado, tomatoes, quinoa, feta cheese and lemon vinaigrette; and BLTA Sandwich with smoked crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, pickles and chipotle aioli on sourdough.

For dinner, we have our eye on the Black & Blue Salad with 100% certified grass-fed steak over organic mixed greens, tomatoes, avocado, carrots, crumbled blue cheese and Caesar dressing; Seafood Stew with clams, shrimp, scallops and mussels; and vegan baked Spaghetti Squash with house-made marinara, spinach and tofu cream.

Our favorite meal of the week is Brunch and we're thinking about their Hangover Benny with crispy smoked bacon, prosciutto cotto ham, and hollandaise; Chorizo Skillet with scrambled eggs, Mexican chorizo, queso fresco, jalapeño, salsa, guacamole and soft tortillas; and Vegan Pancakes with seasonal berries, blueberry compote and maple syrup.

As we transition into colder weather keep these on your radar: Grandma’s Chicken Pot Pie; braised Short Ribs with mashed potatoes and carrots; fresh pasta with house-made Grass-Fed Beef Bolognese; and vegan Eggplant Pot Pie with basil tomato sauce, mushrooms, quinoa, chickpeas, cashews and tofu cream cheese.

The bar program highlights mezcal, house infusions like jalapeño tequila, spicy cinnamon whiskey, limoncello vodka, and spirit-free cocktails. Creative, aromatic drinks include Sunrise Mezcal with mezcal, ginger syrup, fresh lime and pineapple juice; Tequila Road with tequila blanco, housemade chile morita syrup, fresh lime and grapefruit juices; plus mocktails like Little Miss Pumpkin Spice with pumpkin puree, fresh apple and lemon juices, and cinnamon syrup; and Rosemary Paloma with fresh grapefruit juice, rosemary-infused syrup and lemon off the fun What To Drink When You’re Not Drinking menu.

ATHLEISURE LIST | CEDROS

November 20, 2024

Cedros is a diverse group of individuals who share a common background of growing up abroad, with many of them having spent significant time in the US. This international upbringing has shaped their unique perspective and fostered their passion for both food and exceptional hospitality. Fluent in both Japanese and English, it allows them to seamlessly connect with a wide range of guests. United by a shared dedication to delivering the highest level of service, they strive to create memorable dining experiences that reflect their commitment to quality and care.

Their journey back to Tokyo after growing up in San Francisco was driven by a desire to reconnect with their roots and to immerse themselves in the food culture of Japan. Beyond the ingredients and techniques, the dedication and passion that people have in tTokyo, felt like the perfect place for them to grow, evolve, and challenge themselves in the ever-evolving culinary landscape. It’s here that they found a new home, and a community that shares their love for exceptional cuisine and service.

Cedros has a Californian vibe, where vintage skateboards and custom décor create a unique atmosphere. A standout feature is a stunning tuna sculpture, meticulously crafted from metal scraps by a local Japanese artist, adding a touch of artistry to the room. The walls, painted in soothing seafoam green, are complemented by exposed brick and carefully placed tiles, enhancing the maritime-inspired theme. An eye-catching hand-painted octopus graces one of the brick walls, while antique maritime treasures are thoughtfully scattered throughout the restaurant, completing the relaxed coastal feel.

They offer two distinct seasonal tasting menus: The Petite, featuring five expertly crafted courses, and The Signature, showcasing seven courses for a more immersive experience. Each menu is thoughtfully curated to highlight the finest fish and produce that Japan has to offer, ensuring a fresh and authentic culinary journey. Their course selections evolve almost daily, adapting to the freshest ingredients available at the market, allowing them to consistently serve the best of the season with every visit.

3 cocktails we suggest are the Wasabi Gin Tonic, Yuzu Vodka Lime Soda, and the classic Japanese Whisky Highball. Their cocktail program is inspired by Japanese flavors, perfectly complementing our cuisine. Three standout cocktails that pair exceptionally well with our dishes are the Wasabi Gin Tonic, Yuzu Vodka Lime Soda, and the classic Japanese Whisky Highball. Each drink is thoughtfully crafted to enhance the dining experience with a unique blend of refreshing and bold flavors.

ATHLEISURE LIST | HARBOR BURGER SHACK

October 24, 2024

We hear that there's so much to look forward to this Fall in Kittery, Maine. You can take in the Taste of Kittery, filled with the town’s culinary delights. For beer enthusiasts, the nearby NH Brewfest provides a fantastic opportunity to savor fresh brews while enjoying the crisp fall air. You can also enjoy apple picking, corn mazes, and the Fall foilage!

Harbor Burger Shack opened June 15th, 2024 and has become a hotspot for locals and tourists. The owners wanted to create a family-friendly space that is both affordably priced for those in the area. Their focus remains on serving our guests the highest quality fresh ingredients.

They reimagine the classic 1950s roadside diner in a spacious 4,500-square-foot setting that features a 90-seat restaurant and a charming country store. The nostalgic atmosphere is enhanced by vintage advertising posters, original neon signs, and classic Americana decor.

A striking 1932 firetruck marks the entrance, setting the tone for the retro aesthetic. Inside, you'll find teal blue walls, red and white tiles, and mustard yellow hanging lights that create a warm and inviting ambiance. The space featurs high ceilings, upcycled exposed wood beams, and a large fireplace with their mascot proudly displayed above the mantel.

They recommend that we should try the Classic Harbor Burger, topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and the house signature, Wicked Harbor Sauce; Aye Aye Smokehouse Bacon Burger, loaded with crispy bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and finished with Moxie BBQ sauce; and the New Beef n Reef Lobster Burger which features a house-made lobster cake—a New England twist on the classic Maryland crab cake—crafted from fresh-shucked Maine lobster. It's paired with a juicy 6 oz Angus beef patty, topped with crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, and house-made Wicked Harbor Sauce. All the sauces are made in-house, and meat blends are sourced from a local butcher; brioche buns breads are also sourced locally.

Their Fries & Sides are the perfect accompaniment and consist of Classic Crinkle-Cut Fries, Loaded Fries with bacon bits, cheese sauce, and ranch drizzle, Fried Pickle Chips, Sweet Potato Tots, and Chili Cheese Fries with chili, cheese sauce, and bacon bits.

An alternative to their burgers include their Crispy Chicken Sandwich, the Cheesy Chili Dog, and the Fried Fish Burger.

While they have a variety of classic and creative shakes, including timeless favorites like Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry, they also offer a more playful Shake section including: Shack the Cereal, Chocolate Whoopie Pie, and Strawberry Shortcake.

ATHLEISURE LIST | L'ANTICA PIZZERIA DA MICHELE

October 23, 2024

L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele traces its roots back to 1870 in Naples, Italy, and remains a symbol of authentic Neapolitan pizza to this day. The family-run pizzeria is dedicated to perfecting their craft, and continuing the legacy of the founding family. It is referred to as the Sacred Temple of Pizza and is a pilgrimage site for pizza enthusiasts.

Their US restaurants are designed and conceptualized to create a welcoming, home-like ambiance, where guests can savor wine and pizza at their leisure.

Owner/Restaurateur Francesco Zimone was born and raised in Naples, Italy and grew up dining at the 154-year-old pizzeria with his father. He moved to the US in 2002 and was a Financial Analyst for Lionsgate Films and then joined Universal Pictures to work with film producer Dino De Laurentiis (Giada De Laurentiis' father). He would later become the West Coast Italian food ambassador for Academia Barilla which fueled his dream of owning his own restaurants. He opened the first U.S. outpost of L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele in Hollywood in 2019.

When dining with friends and family, three must-try appetizers are the Gnocco Fritto, which has deep-fried pizza dough, creamy burrata, prosciutto, and arugula; the Meatballs, have Aspen Ridge beef, rich tomato sauce, freshly grated Parmigiano and served with crostino; and the Calamari with sliced zucchini, shrimp, and fennel, all perfectly paired with a zesty homemade arrabbiata sauce.

Salads that we have our eye on include their L’antica Caesar with Romaine, Radicchio, Capers, Parmigiano, Breadcrumb, Caesar-Anchovy Dressing; the Caprese Salad with Heirloom Tomato, Buffalo Mozzarella, Basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Salt, Black Pepper; and the Carciofi Salad with Castelvetrano Radicchio, Artichokes, Pistachio, Pecorino Romano, Lemon Dressing.

When it comes to pizza, we recommend the classic Margherita with Tomato, Fior di Latte, Pecorino and Basil; the Diavola with Tomato, Fior di Latte, Pecorino, Basil and Spicy Salame—a fan favorite; and L'antica standout, the Truffle Pizza with Double Fior di Latte, Pecorino, Basil and Shaved Truffle.

We suggest adding Truffle Fries topped with Parmigiano and Shaved Black Truffle! Pair it with the classic Italian cocktail with a twist: the Alpine Spritz made with Alpe Amaro, Giffard Pamplemousse, Prosecco, Grapefruit, finished with sparkling water. Enjoy their Tiramisu—coffee soaked sponge, marsala cream and cocoa.

For brunch enjoy Italian classics such as their iconic Italian Omelette, Ricotta Bruschetta, Pizza Carbonara, and the Frittata Dell’orto. Pair with a refreshing La Primavera with Stray Dog gin, aperol, lime, foam, chartreuse mist.

ATHLEISURE LIST | HIRAYA

August 20, 2024

We head to DC to Hiraya with Chef/Owner Paolo Dungca which opened in September 2023 in the city's H Street neighborhood. When dining here, you'll enjoy Filipino cuisine which is described as a balance between salty, sweet, and sour. It is a true melting pot of all cuisines because of their history and experiences.

You'll feel at home as they have two unique experiences in the same building. The downstairs café is an all-day brunch affair, where you can come in and enjoy coffee, Filipino breakfast staples, and french pastries with Asian twists. You can hang out all day, work from home during the week, or come and enjoy weekend brunch. Upstairs, there is an upscale tasting room. They offer an 8-course tasting menu at the chef's counter and a la carte dining options in the dining room - a progressive, Filipono fare. They also have Filipino-inspired cocktails and wine pairings available to accompany each meal.

It was important for Chef Paolo to have a casual spot in the day where you can come in 3-4 times a week! Upstairs, he wanted to have something where you can come in and celebrate your special occasions.

When you're downstairs he suggests the MAKULAY LATTE, or RAINBOW LATTE, featuring the flavors of yellow birthday cake. He also recommends their SILOG BREAKFAST BOWLS (TAPSILOG, TOCILOG, or LONGSILOG). These are very nostalgic from his childhood growing up in the Philippines. Lastly, enjoy one of their unique pastries. They take staple French-American pastries and add their own unique twist to them, for example, their Black Truffle Ensaymada.

The chef’s tasting menu is a fun way for to introduce diners into this heritage. They start off with Filipino dessert staples that are turned into savory courses, and as the menu progresses, it incorporates classic dishes that are reinterpreted in a modern way. They want to challenge the guests' perception on what Filipino food can be. Filipino food is often eaten with rice, but throughout this menu progression no rice is being served with the menu to offer a more unique experience and insight into the culture’s cuisine.

Enjoy Sunset Hour which runs from 3pm-6pm daily at the café.

In the restaurant, 3 dishes on the a la carte menu they suggest includes: the Cassava Cake with Crab fat, Lardo and Ikura, the Pato Tim which is Roasted Duck with Five Spice, Carmelized Plums and Star Anise and the Palabok with Octopus, Pasta Chitarra, and Quail Egg.

In August, they will participate in the RAMW Restaurant Week starting August 12th - 18th. They have also partnered with Resy for their 10 year anniversary starting August 19th - 23rd.

ATHLEISURE LIST | OTHERSHIP

August 19, 2024

Othership launched in Toronto in February 2022. The COVID restrictions ended in late January. Due to the success and the demand that took place in its first month, their second location in Toronto opened. They knew that a number of cities have people that are stressed and struggle and are ultra social. The Flatiron location opened in July 2024 and 25 Kent Ave. They will also have another in Williamsburg, BK next year with 6,168 sqft.

The 5 founders include Robbie Bent, his wife Emily Bent, and their best friends - Amanda Laine, Harrison Taylor, and Myles Farmer. With a focus on developing healthier communities in Toronto, they started by building a makeshift ice bath and sauna in Robbie's backyard together, they discovered that the combination of hot and cold immersion acted as a powerful social tool, breaking down barriers and fostering connection.

For each location, the goal is to create an environment that embraces emotions and vulnerability, empowering people to be kind to themselves, adopt a healthy mindset, and build community - free from alcohol. We want people to start their day with a reset, or come in and socialize for a night out away from bar culture.

Othership’s custom-designed ice baths are kept icy cold as low as 32°F. The benefits are many, including a sense of pride after class, improved focus and enhanced mood, and a complete reduction of stress. The ice bath also enhances recovery and reduces soreness after workouts, along with benefits like reduced inflammation and a stronger immune system.

Othership’s performance saunas are designed to provide a clean, fresh heat up to 190°F, with aromatic snowballs providing humidity that feels like 200°F. Users find focus and meditative experiences, increased blood circulation, and reduced cortisol levels.

Free Flow classes allows you to use the space how you like. You can hang out with friends and there are quiet free flows as well throughout the day. Social replaces the bar or nightclub as a place to meet people at night. Sometimes there are DJs, music, and even comedy nights. Classes fall into 3 categories (up, down, and all around for energy, relaxation, or emotional connection) and they offer breathwork, aromatherapy via essential oils, towel waving, and a curated soundscape.

Journeyers should wear a bathing suit and make sure to bring a water bottle (no glass). Towels are provided.

Othership offers a performance sauna, the coldest commercial ice baths in North America, and a beautiful amphitheater seating social commons area with three kinds of tea. They have showers, changing stalls, and washrooms as well as lockers for storing belongings. It is also wheelchair accessible.

ATHLEISURE LIST | JUICE GENERATION

July 23, 2024

Earlier this month, we headed over to Juice Generation for the launch of Juiced Gelato! For those who have yet to enjoy cold-pressed juices at their locations or when they are shipped to you, we'll fill you in!

Juice Generation was founded by Eric Helms in 1999 with a goal to make fresh raw juices available to NYers as an accessible options for whatever our lifestyles were and dietary backgrounds.

The brand continued to grow by offering cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and açaí bowls. Over the years they have grown their locations and they ship nationwide.

They are known for their Get Ur Green On, Supe Dupa Greens, Celery, Watermelon Dragon, Carrot Apple Ginger, Citrus Super C, and Spicy Lemon cold pressed juices, they fuel your body with essential nutrients that are low in sugar. These have been drinks that we have oscilated between on a number of visits.

This month, they launched Juiced Gelato which takes their organic, cold-pressed juices to the next level to have them in a gelato format! Not only is it great for the hot weather that we have been enjoying, but the nutrients are next level! Currently, this gelato is available in their Williamsburg location in Brooklyn as well as in the Meatpacking District in NYC. When you're enjoying your scoops, you can have it in a cup or in a cone. This cone is 100% plant-based and is known as the world's first-ever cold-pressed cone. It's made from upcycled organic juice pulp. It's crispy, wholesome, gluten-free and hand-crafted specifically for Juiced Gelato.

On the night of the launch we were able to enjoy the range of gelatos along with champagne. We love that the range is low sugar, sweetened by agave and has no dairy. Here are our 3 favorites:

Supa Dupa Greens has a tangy taste of green apple and every shade of green. It includes only 4 grams of added sugar per serving.

Celery is energizing with light and zesty lemon. There are only 5 grams of added sugar per serving.

Spicy Lemon bursts with tart and tingling lemon-ginger-cayenne refreshment. It has 6 grams of added sugar per serving.

Keep your eye out for when you can get this gelato shipped to you!

ATHLEISURE LIST | SAVTA

May 18, 2024

A longtime Los Angeles resident, Vincent Benoliel is bringing his West Coast flair in the kitchen to New York with Savta, his California-inspired restaurant located in Greenwich Village. It is his second project in NYC following the opening of Pasta Corner (shared in the SEP ISSUE #93 2023 of Athleisure List) in the summer of 2023 with friend French pop star Matt Pokora. Vincent owns another branch of Pasta Corner in LA, along with his bakery there, Michelina. The inspiration behind Savta (meaning grandmother in Hebrew) is Vincent’s grandmother Lisou Dahan, who ran two restaurants in the south of France and first taught Vincent about cooking.

The decor and ambiance at Savta is very Greenwich Village and cozy with exposed brick and inviting wood line the intimate space that features a welcoming outdoor back garden that is heated during cooler months. There is a long bar that leads to the dining room and garden filled with plants.

Savta is offering lunch from 12-5pm Wednesdays - Fridays. We suggest these 3 dishes for your next meal here: The sandwiches on pizza dough have been a smash hit for lunch at Savta. Don't miss the Parma Affair with grilled chicken, prosciutto, burrata, pesto and basil; Skirt Steak with chimichurri and a spinach salad with shaved parmesan cheese; and the Mushroom Toast with creme fraiche and thyme.

Dinner is from 5pm Wednesday through Sunday, with pizza and drinks served until late on Fridays (1am) and Saturdays (2am). The dinner menu is already packed with favorites like the Sauteed Corn with feta cheese, cilantro and a yogurt sauce; Spianata Pizza with piccante calabrese salumi, grilled peppers and fior di latte cheese; and the Dry-aged Ribeye with hand cut fries. Vincent also recommends trying a new dish, the Sea Bass with mint tzatziki and roasted pumpkin seeds.

Brunch is on the weekend from 11am-4pm. It's been a favorite on Bleecker Street since its opening weekend. We suggest the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon on a homemade croissant; the Japanese Eggplant with agrodolce, tahini, sumac and cherry tomatoes; and new to the menu is the Bleecker Street Hot Dog — two beef sausages on pizza dough bread served with onions, mustard, ketchup and sweet relish.

They offer wines from California, Italy and France, including prosecco on tap, plus beer. Some low ABV cocktails Vincent recommends include the Bleecker Mule (the house take on a Moscow Mule), Espresso Martini and Passion Margarita with passion fruit puree and a black-salt rim.

If you're swinging by for Happy Hour, it takes place from 5pm - 7pm Wednesday through Friday. You can enjoy a glass of Pinot Grigio or Malbec for $9, a glass of Prosecco for $11, and a Bleecker Mule for $14.

ATHLEISURE LIST | MUSIC FOR A WHILE

April 14, 2024

Located at the Selina Chelsea Hotel, Music For A While: Listening Bar & Lounge recently opened! Full Life Hospitality is behind the city's sought after venues which includes Virgo, Make Believe, Creatures at Selina Rooftop, and MFAW. They're looking to push the boundaries with their concepts for people to have incredible experiences.

This lounge is an escape for every music lover, a place where time stands still and memories are made. The venue not only offers music but stories, cultures, and connections.

When James Pfautz conceptualized the lighting design and consulted on the interior design, he wanted to compliment the concrete and wood tones as the negative space. This created an opportunity to highlight textured wood grains, industrial curved concrete, and warm-toned plush fabrics. The inspiration is the balance between blending analog movement with modern tech inputs.

The Vinyl Room redefines the way music is experienced. Billed as the venue's listening bar, featuring high-quality audio equipment set in an acoustically optimized environment, partons will experience high-fidelity sounds in an intimate setting. An ideal scene for audiophiles and casual listeners alike. The space pays homage to the art of listening, providing a meticulously crafted audio environment where every note, beat, and harmony is felt deeply.

The Lounge is ideal for those who like to pair movement and music and features the energy of live performances, DJ sets, and more. The Lounge invites guests to dance and mingle.

We suggest 3 cocktails to enjoy: HI-FI Collins - Mezcal, cocchi americano, lemon, muddled cucumbers; Martinez Martini - Angostura bitters, sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur, gin, orange peer; and One Hit Wonder - Cocolopez, giffard abricot, plantation dark, diplomatico rum.

They are currently working on a light bites menu with Chef Neil Strauber. Guests can enjoy a special family-style dinner with the added benefit of guaranteed entry into our MFAW or a reserved table downstairs, along with a complimentary bottle of liquor.

Packages include: Tier 1: At $75 per person, this package offers dinner and drink pitchers, with guaranteed entry to our MFAW experience and Tier 2: For $125 per person, guests get dinner with bottle service, including drink pitchers at dinner and a bottle post-dinner, available for groups of 6+.

Guests can come on Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm-2am. 9-11pm they will offer a happy hour menu. $10 Martinis, $12 Cocktails, $6 Beers. They will have lineups featuring a dynamic range of genres including Afrobeats, House, Techno, and nostalgic 80s/Disco tunes.
