FINDING ME: A MEMOIR

HarperOne

Viola Davis

We have been long-time fans of award-winning actress and producer, Viola Davis. She is known for taking on dramatic roles and bringing her characters' essence to the front of our minds. In Finding Me: A Memoir, we meet her as a little girl where she had a decision to make when she realized that she would take on a decision that would make her stop running from herself and life.

She takes us from her early beginnings in Central Falls, Rhode Island to owning the stage in NYC and beyond. She shows how she found herself, claimed her space and made those listen who didn't see her when she made her presence known.

In analyzing her path, Viola Davis allows us to think about how we navigate our own lives. She also looks at the duality of who we are versus how the world labels us once they believe they know who they think we are. Her hope is that through her journey, others can look at how they define themselves and to provide the proper self-love that they deserve.
