TIP: HIP THRUST FOR A STRONGER SQUAT

December 5, 2018

The hip thrust is by far the best exercise for an athlete who understands its benefits. But for the sake of the novices in exercises and the sports life, we will start by defining what hip thrust exercises are. They are exercises targeting the hip area, core, and glutes by actively moving these parts through one of many workouts. Some add weight as they move the hip area up and down while others do it without any weight. Doing it correctly has a number of benefits as confirmed by experienced fitness trainers and therapists.

A Word from the Experts

Most fitness enthusiasts and athletes from all over the world ignore this exercises since they are oblivious to what value it could add to their lives. But experts have something to tell them. If you want to prepare your body for the best squats, this is one set of workouts you should include in your exercise schedule.

Some research shows that people who were exposed to some form of hip thrust exercise a couple of times a week have better core strength, overall body balance, and power than those who do not. So from this, it is evident that experts confirm that hip thrusts make for better squats.

Hip Thrust Exercise with Increasing Intensity

It is always prudent to start small in fitness and grow the intensity of workouts as you get used to them. And that is the case with hip thrust exercises. If you find some exercises difficult, you can get motivation through reliable steroids at 120kgs.org. They have a wide variety of enhancement boosters that are legit. Here are easy ways of increasing hip thrust intensity for better squats:

● Increase the number of reps - All hop-thrust variations have some reps involved. You will notice that it is not possible to do many at the beginning of the exercises. However, you need to increase the reps after every week. Your ability to easily perform squats will also increase.

● Add more time - Hip thrusts are used as preparation for squats and other lower body exercises like leg presses. However, one can increase the duration of the exercise to get the most out of it.

● Add weight - Another wise way to make your core, hip, and glutes stronger is by gradually adding weight when doing hip thrusts. Some caution when doing this is to have a trainer or training buddy just in case things go wrong. It is better to prevent workout accidents and injuries than to treat them.

Relationship Between Hip Thrust and Squats

Squats have benefits to the lower body, especially the glutes and hamstrings. If you have a knee problem, this is the perfect solution. Heavy lifters add weights when doing squats to get the same effect as leg presses with a high-resistance force. But with all of these exercises, the hip and core areas play a major role of support. And this is where the hip thrusts come in to make this area strong and powerful. Those who put some work into hip thrusts can confirm that the fruits are incredible.

FORM AND FUNCTION WITH DR GREUNER

January 2, 2018

2018 will be many things, but we hope in addition to your other plans and goals, that focusing on your health will be at the top of the list! We took some time to talk to NYC Surgical Associate's head doctor and Co-Founder, Dr Greuner. He is an extremely exclusive and prestigious award-winning cardiovascular surgeon who is one of the most talented in his field. He is also a social media influencer for health and fitness. We wanted to find out about how he
found his calling to be a doctor, his passion for fitness (if you haven't checked his Instagram, check it out) and how we can have positive heart health.

ATHLEISURE MAG: How did you come to be a cardiovascular surgeon?

DR. GREUNER: Believe it or not, by accident. I was a NCAA athlete in college, and an economics and human performance major. My plan was to open a chain of objectively measured analytics for top tier athletes upon graduation, and this was a childhood dream of mine. I took medical classes to develop my knowledge of human anatomy and physiology for this reason in school, and became so enamored discovering how the human body functions. It’s beautiful, and completely logical. I could speak for hours on this, and I read about it more to this day for personal enjoyment, much the same way an art aficionado looks at beautiful pieces.

As my understanding grew, so did my desire to learn more, and soon, I had basically filled my requirements for medical school, solely via personal interest. My father and mother were in the middle of a divorce at the time I finished college, and I moved closer to my father to help him through this difficult time, as we had always been very close. I applied to medical school at
that time where he was living, and was accepted. I finished, but never planned on practicing, until my surgery rotation, which fascinated me. I applied to surgical residency and I was accepted.

During my surgery residency, I rotated through cardiac surgery, and it was love at first sight. The rhythm, the physiology, the technical prowess, and the nerves of steel required hypnotized
me, and I knew there was nothing else I would rather do.

To this day, everyone asks me why I am so happy heading to work in the morning. The truth is, I theoretically found the love of my life by accident…..

AM: How can we maintain positive heart health?

DR. G: There are so many answers to this question, but in short, regular cardio and a diet rich in essential fatty acids and low in foods that promote oxidative stress are the two main keys.

For the function of your heart, or “cardiovascular fitness,” you should maintain at least 3 sessions of active cardio where your heart rate is above 120 bpm, for at least 20 minutes per week to maintain your level of cardiovascular fitness. Less than that, and you will consistently deteriorate with time in terms of your cardiac function. More than that, and you will consistently improve.

The next category is maintaining pristine condition of your heart, to allow it to function effectively. Anything that causes tissue damage is called “oxidative stress”. I’m sure you have all heard of anti oxidants. These are the chemicals that act to buffer these oxidative stress. Think of it as a balance, like a mathematical equation. If you go into a negative number, because of oxidative stress, you must take in antioxidants to get back to a neutral state, and “balance it out” so to speak.

Oxidative stress can come from any source, such as chemicals in processed food, chemical injury such as smoking or pollution, and even extra strenuous workouts. It’s all about consistency, and awareness to keep you in the positive direction to avoid tissue damage.

AM: It's clear that you are also into health and fitness, why is this important and what are the benefits?

DR. G: Yes, fitness is a huge part of my life, and for a variety of reasons

1. its one of my main coping mechanisms.

I definitely have a very stressful job surgically speaking, and I also have a significant administrative role in a very large private practice, which let me tell you, comes with some unwanted stress. Given that role, I need some release mechanisms that don’t involve unhealthy habits, and working out is one of my go to methods, particularly cycling, running, and martial arts, all of which require an intense amount of focus and “zoning out” so to speak. I reach a sort of meditative state for lack of a better word, that allows me a tranquil period and a mental cleansing for other things that may be weighing on my mind at the time. Well, at least until the next hurdle…..

2. It preserves my form and function.

Lets face it. Whether we are 18 or 60, we are all aging daily, and aging takes its toll on the body. And none of that is making us more fit. In fact, it gets harder to maintain levels of fitness as we age for a variety of reasons. You can either accept that, or fight the trend by working harder to be better. I choose the latter. In fact, my lap times running, and some of my muscle functionality is better than where it was in my twenties as a result of me training so intensely these days, a fact that I’m extremely proud of. Now if only my back injuries would respond the same way…..

Dr. Greuner Headshot 5.jpg

AM: Nutrition is key. How can we stay healthy during the holiday while splurging during this time of year?

DR. G: I’m a HUGE fan of cheat days. Both because I love to eat probably more than anyone I know, and also because there are definite benefits to them, if your diet is on track the rest of the time. In general, I’m sure you have heard of muscle confusion workouts. The basic premise behind this, is that if you do the same workout for a prolonged period of time, eventually,
your muscles become accustomed to it, and you will no longer push them to the point where they need to become stronger, as they simply become more efficient. How do you avoid this and enjoy improved function with every workout? By switching it up and keeping your muscles and body “confused” and not knowing what to expect.

It’s the same with your diet. If you keep to a strict, low calorie diet for a prolonged period of time, your body is programmed to preserve the status quo by nature, and it will simply become
more efficient and lower your metabolism in order to burn calories in an efficient way. In short, you will basically become a human Pruis metabolically speaking, which trust me, is NOT what you want. You want to be that big V8 that burns calories at a rapid rate. How do you do this? By implementing a cheat day once a week, where you consume a tremendous amount of calories, and make your body feel like endless calories will be available much like the credit market was in the 1990s. Then, just when your body is adapting, which takes a few days, you pull the carpet from underneath it, and drop it back into a low calorie state while it still thinks that endless energy is available. Just when it’s starting to sense that it needs to be more “financially responsible” from a calories standpoint, your throw a curveball again and bring in fat, carbs, and everything that it wants. Keep doing this, and your body will have to keep guessing, and you will always burn fat at a faster rate and keep it lean. Plus, you get to eat cake
and fries….

AM: What are 3 workouts that guys should do to get great abs and calves?

DR. G: You should always think of gaining muscle mass as a separate category than acquiring muscle definition. A muscular, ripped physique is the Holy Grail for most men, and there are
many reasons most of us are not walking around looking like Greek gods. It’s very difficult to achieve both. To gain muscle mass, we have to stress our muscles, beyond what they are used
to stimulate them to grow. Most of the gym theories on heavy weights with low weight vs light weights and high reps are false. The endpoint needs to be complete and total muscle fatigue so that your body is uncomfortable and is stimulated to adapt to be able to deal with the new level of performance you demand from it. It doesn’t really matter how you achieve that level of stimulation, as long as you achieve it. If you are trying to attain a different level of functionality, meaning strength vs endurance, the type of training you do definitely matters.

This being the case, I always pick the easiest way to look the best. And for me, that is doing heavy weights with low reps, as it’s the quickest, most efficient way to stimulate growth. My ab
routine typically consists of hanging leg raises with leg weights, ab pulldowns with heavy weight (150+lbs) and weighted, slant bench sit ups with a 40-50lb medicine ball. When it comes time to train for an event, I switch to more reps to improve my function. For calves I use weighted donkey presses, and weighted calf raises.

In order to allow your muscles to grow, you must also give them the fuel and rest they need, much like a growing child, which is why it’s difficult to stay ripped and build muscle. Girls have it so easy…..

To show off that hard-earned muscle, you must be in a calorie deficit, to make your body lose the fat and expose that hard-earned mass. Without a low body fat, you will never look good, regardless of the amount of muscle you build.

You may ask, “When I drop my calories, won't I lose muscle?” which is a legitimate concern. The short answer is, yes you will. But you can minimize muscle loss by manipulating your diet, as well as supplements promoting testosterone, and supplying branched chain amino acids, which are key to my routine. BCAAs basically fool your body into believing it has broken down muscle already, so it shifts to breaking down fat instead when you are in a caloric deficit, and are one of the keys to preserving muscle mass when dieting hard for fat loss.

Greuner high res fitness .jpg

AM: What are your energy foods that you enjoy eating that you can take with you when you have a hectic day and can't get out like you would like?

DR. G: I typically bring some lean, but very satisfying meat cuts to work with me, which promote satiety, but at the same time, allow me to not over indulge in calories. Turkey, lean beef, and chicken are my go to choices.

The key to any diet that promotes a lean, muscular physique is to avoid high blood sugar levels, which stimulate insulin release. Insulin is the main hormone involved in fat gain, so you want to minimize its presence in your blood.

The best way to do this is to avoid high sugar foods. So if you’re going to snack, use high protein snacks like beef jerky, or complex carbs, like high fiber or oat bars with low sugar content. As soon as you cause a sugar spike, you basically put yourself behind the 8 ball in terms of your physique. Yes, it's THAT important.

AM: As a stylist, I'm prepping a number of my clients for their red carpet moments during Awards Season what are food must-haves and workouts that you would suggest they incorporate into their routine?

DR. G: In general, I look at workouts and diet as trying to achieve two different goals. How you look is 80 percent a function of your diet, and how you perform is mostly dependent on your workouts. The only exception to this, is trying to attain a very high level of muscle in which case you absolutely must work out consistently to stimulate muscle growth.

That being the case, diet is the key to looking great. You could work out all day long, but if you eat badly, you will look terrible. If you barely workout, but your diet is clean, you will look much better than you think, which is often overlooked. Often I hear “I work out, I can eat whatever I want today.” Nothing could be farther from the truth. If you think about it, in a hugely strenuous workout for an hour, the average person would burn maybe 1000 calories, or one larger slice of cheesecake. Do the math on that. Fat loss is a simple mathematical equation. Eat
fewer calories than you burn, and you will lose weight. The easiest way to do that, unless you want to work out 6 hours a day, is to keep your diet clean.

ATHLEISURE LIST | Y7 STUDIO

November 5, 2017

When it comes to working out, there are as many methods as personality types which is a great way to target what makes you feel your best you. Hot yoga has been around a number of studios but time and again, we always hear about the cool vibes of Y7 Studio and with their recent launch of their newest location in Williamsburg, BK we knew we were going to get a significant workout here.

Y7 Studio combines a vinyasa yoga (which is all about flowing and repeating movements in a fluid movement) with hip hop and beats that keep you focused while sweating your butt off in a candlelit studio. It's during each movement, that you realize that your body can seriously push past its limits to stay in sync and that the moves become central to your core.

Y7 has a number of locations that you can get your sweat on and those who attend the classes swear by their mantra of "A Tribe Called Sweat" and "We Flow Hard".

Co-Founded by Sara Levey, Y7 has two kinds of classes which include WeFlowHard™ which is a fast paced vinyasa class while Slowburn goes deeper into your tissue and allows you to hold the poses for a longer period of time. Both allow you to have a very successful sweat as you work out in their specially infrared rooms which make you feel like you have walked into a sauna but also ensures that you will be dripping.  Music for WeFlowHard™ focuses on hip-hop and driving beats while Slowburn is more typical of yoga music and is condusive to the movements and vibe.

Although you can rent mats and towels, we suggest bringing your own as it's a good idea to have the mat that works best for you when you're doing the workouts. We definitely suggest laying a towel down on top of your mat as it definitely gets slippery.

Check your location for full amenities as all Y7 Studios have refresh spaces, but Soho has a shower while the Williamsburg location does not.

y7-williamsburg-3.jpg

We also love that Y7 carries its own line of apparel which is great to wear when working out or after the gym. Their line includes their key phrases and definitely makes you feel like you're part of the cool set when you're entering/leaving the studio or wherever you're going next.

Most importantly, it's worth noting that the instructors really do operate on a "do what you can" mentality so as you're taken through each movement, if your body is not comfortable doing something - there are no judgments whether you pause or sit in the other pose.

You'll find that as you move and see those around you doing so that as a beginner, you pick up what is going and and begin to get into sync with the group.

Although it's suggested that beginners should do Slowburn first, you can also go right to WeFlowHard™.

FOREVER AGAINST ANIMAL TESTING

July 18, 2017

Growing up, we couldn't spend enough time at The Body Shop. Whether it was the variety of lip balm scents, tools to apply skincare or the natural products that were used - there was always a reason to swing by this beauty boutique. Central to the ethos of this brand was the fact that the brand has always been cruelty-free and 100% vegetarian. It wasn't until we got older that we realized the importance of this stance and as many are still finding their way
to bring these practices to their brands, The Body Shop has always embraced this concept.

In 1989, the brand launched its first cruelty-free campaign and in 1997, they were the first cosmetic company to be certified with the Leaping Bunny (The Leaping Bunny certification is the only internationally recognized scheme that enables consumers to easily identify/purchase cosmetic and toiletry products that have not been tested on animals) logo.

This month, The Body Shop has partnered with Cruelty Free International, the leading non-profit organization working to end animal testing. Together, they are working on a campaign to collect 8 million signatures from people all over the world by 2020. To date, 80% of countries don't have laws against it - including the United States. By doing so, they will be able to petition the UN to request an international convention that bans animal testing globally everywhere.

With this upcoming effort, you can lend your voice by signing their petition online, at The Body Shop stores and sharing socially @TheBodyShop #ForeverAgainstAnimalTesting. To find out more about this initiative, we sat down with Megan Grant, General Manager, USA - The Body Shop.

ATHLEISURE MAG: Tell us about The Body Shop.

MEGAN GRANT: The Body Shop is an iconic British retail brand with an extensive and growing global presence. The Body Shop was founded in 1976 by Dame Anita Roddick in Brighton,
England, and blossomed from Anita’s personal belief that business could be a force for good. Since its founding, The Body Shop has always created innovative, naturally-inspired products.
We’re dedicated to enriching people as well as the planet, working fairly with farmers and suppliers, and are committed to helping communities thrive through our Community Trade program. In addition, The Body Shop was the first international beauty brand to campaign against animal testing in cosmetics back in 1989. We have never tested any of its ingredients or products on animals, and never will.

AM: What does Cruelty-Free mean and why has this been such an issue in the beauty industry?

MG: Cruelty-Free means not tested on animals, however, this is an ongoing issue in the beauty industry because cruelty-free is a label term and not established by law (yet). While there has
been considerable progress in animal testing, animal testing of cosmetic products and ingredients is legally allowed in 80% of countries worldwide. The only way to make sure that the practice is ended is to build on the groundwork carried out by Cruelty Free International and The Body Shop since 1989 to ensure that a global ban is established. As current, Cruelty Free International estimates that more than 500,000 animals are used for testing every year, and a global ban would bring to a close decades of animal suffering and would ensure that customers everywhere can shop with the confidence that no animals were harmed for their cosmetics.

AM: How do you know if your products are in fact Cruelty-Free?

MG: Make sure that the ingredients are cruelty-free and the product is backed by science and research. Consumers will know our products are cruelty-free because of the packaging. The Body Shop is adding the Leaping Bunny logo or the words “Against Animal Testing" to all of our packaging. This means that the product is certified by Cruelty Free International.

AM: You partnered with Cruelty-Free International, who are they and what does this partnership mean for The Body Shop?

MG: Cruelty-Free International is the leading organization working solely to end animal experiments worldwide. It is the first global non-profit organization dedicated to ending cosmetic product and ingredient testing on animals. For The Body Shop, this partnership
will allow us as a brand to reclaim ownership of the fight against animal testing forever. We want to raise awareness of the issue to customers and deliver the largest and most ambitious
campaign ever to seek a global ban on the use of animal testing in cosmetic products and ingredients.

AM: There are those that argue that animal testing takes place as it's the greatest indicator of how those products will react to humans; however, animal testing only reflects 40-60% of
the reactions that humans have. Alternative methods of testing can indicate 80% of the reactions, what are alternative methods of testing?

MG: There has been a lot of progress made in establishing alternative non-animal testing methods, and these progressive alternatives are often cheaper, faster and better at predicting
human reactions. Further, the results acquired by these animal tests, in many cases, are only 40-60% effective. Humane alternatives to animal tests can use simple organisms like bacteria or human tissues and cells as well as sophisticated computer models. Human tissue can be grown in the lab from donated human cells, and the tests use reconstituted human skin and other tissues from voluntary donations. Computer models also provide the ability to replicate aspects of the human body, and can be used to predict the safety of new cosmetic substances based on knowledge of existing substances.

AM: You're currently promoting the Forever Against Animal Testing Campaign and seeking signatures - what will take place after getting the signatures?

MG: The Body Shop’s goal is to collect eight million petition signatures by 2020. Once achieved, and together with Cruelty Free International, we will be taking the signatures to the UN General Assembly and asking to pass an international convention that will ban animal testing everywhere and forever. By creating international action at this level we will also be demonstrating the fact that the public believes the time to end animal testing for cosmetics
is long gone and that the practice should stop.

AM: How will you continue to bring awareness to this issue?

MG: Forever Against Animal Testing will always be an issue The Body Shop will fight against. We are aiming to engage eight million people to sign the petition calling on the United Nations
to introduce an international convention to end the practice once and for all. The petition can be signed online or at any of The Body Shop's 3,000 stores across the world. The more voices raised in support of the campaign from every corner of the world, the more likely we are to succeed. That is why we are asking everyone, everywhere, to support our campaign and add their voice to the global call on the UN to ban animal testing for cosmetics. We’re also encouraging consumers to use the campaign hashtag, #ForeverAgainstAnimalTesting, on social media to raise awareness of the issue.

SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW | CLUB MED SANDPIPER BAY

June 3, 2017

There are all kinds of vacations that one can take and without question, the all-inclusive is one where you can book your trip and go to your designated destination without worrying about paying for additional add-ons or wondering if you can access amenities that are offered. Recently, we headed to Club Med Sandpiper Bay, located in Port St. Lucie, Florida (the only Club Med in the US) about an hour outside of West Palm Beach International Airport. Club Med specializes in premium all-inclusive vacations. They are known for the active traveler who wants to be able to brush up on their skills, have access to a variety of sports and fitness methods and still have the option to do nothing at all if the mood strikes them. With 68 award-winning resorts in the world, guests have the ability to choose diverse locations that include tropical island oasis, ski retreats, exotic adventures and even luxurious cruising on a ship providing unique experiences and access to areas around them.

We arrived during the resort's Body & Mind Weeks program which runs from April 29th – June 3rd at this property. During these weeks, the resort becomes the ultimate destination for rejuvenation from the inside out. While there, we experienced professional coaches that are able to instruct and enhance your performance in golf, tennis and beach volleyball, enjoyed fitness training, had access to speakers who can talk about positive mental health and nutrition and booked a phenomenal experience at the L’Occitane Spa at Club Med (the only L’Occitane Spa in the US) which has a relaxing outdoor garden to continue your transformation before and after your treatment.

This program specifically (although this is also true outside of the weeks) focuses on Sports, Nutrition and Wellness. We opted for tennis as we were able to hone our skills by breaking down the sport from various serves, interval training and mastering coordination.

Any apprehension or questions that are felt prior to the session are replaced with an understanding of how to play the game better as well as to what can be worked on upon returning home. Those who are really keen on upping their game can book more time where they are videotaped and can see the instruction on how they advance and what they need to keep in mind as they work. This same focus was also rolled out for golf and beach volleyball.

It’s also worth noting that in addition to Club Med being a vacation spot for those that spend downtime there, it’s also a place where kids who are focused on learning the sport professionally live on site year around and are trained by the very same professional that guests are trained by. These kids study on campus, compete and are able to obtain scholarships as they move up the ranks and continue on their road to being professional players. The commitment to sport and excellence is clearly seen in this area of the community and as a guest, it’s interesting to see and feel the living community that exists here as there are varying groups of people who stay here longer than a vacation period which gives it a feel of a community with constant energy.

Beyond sports that are offered, guests have access to the gym as well as fitness instructors. During our visit, we had the opportunity to meet Leslee Bender (founder of the Bender Ball and the Bender Academy as well as the Co-Creator of Barre Above) and took one of her classes.

The flying trapeze is an activity that a number of guests couldn't stop talking about. Participants are able to learn how to make catches, swing and more with instructors that have circus, gymnast, and for some, Cirque de Soleil backgrounds. Whether you're doing it or simply watching - each person is trained in the practice area on the ground and then they are able to apply what they have learned in the air. Another fitness focused activity takes place on the soccer field where you can do interval training. These drills got the body moving, align the core and build strength when prepping to play a given sport.

Club Med is known as a place for families with activities that children can enjoy while parents are relaxing or being instructed. For those without families, this property sits on 200+ acres which includes the golf course, areas for a number of activities, meeting spaces, a variety of pools (one for adults only with a bar).

Relaxation can be found at the L’Occitane Spa where products can be purchased. For treatments, a form lets the masseuse know about targeted areas and places to avoid. We highly suggest enjoying the rose tea that they have as it was such a great way to get into the treatment. The spa's relaxation area before and after your treatment is an open air enclosed space that embodies the spirit of wellness.

At Sandpiper Bay, The Marketplace is a buffet where you can eat all meals. Guests can eat inside (there is an adult only section) and outside. The buffet offers a number of options for those with various dietary needs, healthy or splurge options and there is always rosé, red and white wine, and beer available to go with your meals. You can also enjoy your standard restaurant as well at the Riverside BBQ & Grill. Grab cocktails at Slice Bar and enjoy them at the bar, patio or head back to the pool.

Club Med provides a number of options that allow you to balance your day filled with activities or just completely chill near the closest palm tree. For more information on Club Med Sandpiper Bay or additional locations, visit www.ClubMed.us.

ATHLEISURE LIST: EAST END; SOUTHAMPTON + NYC

October 31, 2016

East End Row is a boutique rowing studio founded in Southampton NY.  The Hamptons is a region of Long Island that is colloquially referred to as “The East End,”  known for it’s world class beaches a perfect spot to conceive a fitness class based on a water rower.

East End Row was founded by husband and wife team, Liza and Alan Benson. Liza has been a boutique fitness addict since the late 90s. Liza introduced her husband, Alan, to her obsession and they both found rowing to be the most effective total body workout that treated their joints kindly!

Alan and Liza are joined by master instructor Jess Lynn who designed the unique program that focuses on rowing choreographed to music in “waves.”

Southampton’s premier rowing studio, is opening its first NYC location on Manhattan’s Upper East Sidein mid-October. East End Row launched on to the Southampton fitness scene in May of 2016 and quickly became one of the “hottest workouts in the Hamptons” according to the NY Observer and the “It” workout according to Beaches Magazine.

The first Manhattan outpost will be docked on East 74th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues, just three blocks from the 6 train, making it a convenient fitness destination for more than just Upper East Side dwellers.

East End Row’s classes are conducted on The GX Water Rower, a high-end rowing machine outfitted with a water-filled flywheel.

The new studio will maintain the same high standards and amenities to which East End Row’s Southampton clientele has grown accustomed to including complimentary bottled water and fresh towels in a beautifully executed boutique studio setting. Their own high end apparel is also sold.

The East End Row method consists of an instructor led class on low-impact water rowers, incorporating weight-based strength training. This unique format choreographs traditional rowing pyramids to hit music – these “waves,” as they are known at East End Row, promise a heart pumping work-out.
